Getting rid of my 12ft rods as I feel I don't need them. Looking for some 10fts, seen the Shimano tx2s today. Can anyone else recommend anything? Also a reel to go with them.

Agree with Gerry, no need to spend a fortune. I bought a set of three Daiwa 10ft Black Widow G50's about 4 years ago, got them from TFT in the Boxing Day sale (it was a PROPER sale). They were £72 for three, an absolute bargain. Full cork handles, they now are my youngest's starter rods. Nothing wrong with them, think they are TFT "specials" so probably not available now but similar will be available.
Just go with some "budget" rods that have good reviews, just do a search on "10ft" on the forum. I'm sure that will throw up some decent threads.
Alternatively, have a look at the second hand market.

10' Freespirit CTX 3.25 are competent and good value - great for small waters. The 10' CTX SPM rod is a great little tool; use it more than my 13' SPM beast rod and on both lakes and rivers for marker/spomb/spopper work

I've gone for the Daiwa crosscast XTs. I will let you know my thoughts after I've used them 👍🏽 thanks for all the recommendations!

Gardner Covert might be worth a look. I've got the 12ft 3.25s that i bought for fishing a couple of less savoury waters and they're nice rods for the money, quite soft in action so i would imagine the 10s are lovely

Yeah I really like them so far, can certainly throw a lead and have a lovely playing action, very nice rods, I got the cork handle and they really are a lovely rod 👍 I got them to use whilst I save up to get my bank creepers rebuilt but I may not bother now 😂
