i'm gonna give these a go .. which size you reckon for a standard 15mm pop up on a size 4 spinner rig ? thought it might be neater and easier than putty and wont attract the crayfish

I first thought these were fiddly a few years ago but they are just brilliant and last for ever..
I don't like the mixed containers (wrong sizes)so I have the bb number 4s and Aas. I think a bb will be good for a Ronnie.

Does anyone have an alternative to using the provided rubber cord. Petty I know but I do not like the weight lying to one side

When i use them i have the weight sitting directly in the middle, just make sure your hook length is directly opposite the groove.
When you're testing them in the margins / bucket of water tweak with the line it get it sitting how you want.

I got a pack as I wanted something more secure and oval shaped, definitely not cheap but I love them.
Ok it took me a while to master a quick way of getting them on lol
I found the BB with a small sliver of putty in the groove held my pop ups perfect

They can be a pain in the arse to put on,I found stretching the elastic as you put it in helps.I then slide the elastic so it's flush with the weight then cut the other end,took me ages suss it out

Very simple to use...
Just bite and hold one end of the elastic in your teeth hold the other end and stretch away...position sinker wherever you like and release the pressure.
As a bonus... wet the elastic when it's trapped on the hooklength then you can pull it through and trim off really close so you don't waste any of the elastic

Something like This Stuff possibly
Just need to check the diameter of the stuff supplied by FOX from memory when I used the weights it looked 2 or 3mm, also a supplier with the right size diameter
Another option some large O rings in the right diameter

If you've got a local tackle shop have a look at their solid pole elastic. I use the cream elastic on my old solar weights, makes them look like a big piece of hemp
Re fitting I hold a small tag end at one end then stretch the elastic until it pops into the lead, let it contract back up to size then cut off. EDIT, if you're careful you can pull the tag end back to the start of the weight so you only have to cut one end, if the weights wet that's easier, as for trimming to size, stretch a little before cutting, means the end will go in the lead rather than act as a tag.
And if you're a die hard Solar user search Sellock pins on Ebay, and yes they do black.

Have a look at Nash Swivel knot beads. No faffing about, just slide them on.

I got some 1.5 mm pole elastic and it was just a bit small. Works but not a tight fit , I'd say 2 or 2.5 mm would be good

@ runneil, coincedence, the elastic I use on my old Solar Depth Charges is Preston Slip System No14, 1.8mm and it's not super tight, I can move the lead on coated braid breaks without it bunching, but I reckon 2mm+ would make it very secure.

Ive always use esp 0.75 silicon tube never even used what comes with the weights.
