The glass Chris Brown net is £126 including the 3ft extension. In a world of £900 bivvys and £1000 barrows it is one of fishing's great bargains.
The only other net, whether in or out of production, that I would buy over that is the carbon version. Just above budget at £180. It just looks a bit nicer with the 12K weave.
You can even speak to Chris on the phone and ask him about it, imagine that..someone who picks up the phone and has a conversation.

Looked at both in JR, they were exactly the same, bloke serving me gave me a nod and a wink when I pointed this out.
Don't get me wrong I'm a bit of a stunner when I'm at my fighting weight and in a suit as I was that day but I'm sure that he was referring to the stable both handles came from rather than my chance of a Nando's for two.

Just got an Aqua atom for under £100 on tft really nice net for the money.
Having just got a Chris Brown net (in my case carbon) I would highly recommend this. Compared to the Matrix Bulldog and 3k (which I believe have the Torrix arms and pole respectively) it is far more rigid.
Can't see this obsession with rigid arms on nets to be honest .
Due to my arthritis I bought two solar nets and found them easy to collapse .
But a lot of posters on here said these nets were pants , floppy arms , terrible to manoeuvre in the water , overpriced , Locky was on drugs when he designed these .
To which all these comments I found very amusing .
It's a net FFS and does the job perfectly even with floppy arms .
I really wonder on the type of people with these opinions who live amongst us 🤔

I can't see the fuss about rigid arms either.
Maybe it's a case that you don't realise until you've tried them? Well that's easy for me, I won't try one, so will continue to wonder what's all the fuss about and continue to be happy with what I've got.

A stiffer net has never caught me more fish, not have I ever lost a fish due to flex in a net. However it is far easier to 'scoop' a fish when the net is rigid, otherwise you lift the handle and the net head/drawcord lags behind substantially.

Matrix is 3K carbon torrix is 1K carbon so definitely not the same 👍 johnson rosses torrix net comes with matrix spreader and net though 👍

Problem with nets theese days they try to make them look like a piece of art which intern comprises the performance, I recently bought a new chris brown net (glass) for £125 posted and was shocked how light it is for its thickness it performs exactly how I wanted it to

That's going to be my next purchase once my JRC X lite net is done. The jrc has been brilliant. With the carbon spreader block it's very light just the arms flex but has never been an issue.

I would say that a rigid net pole and arms help in two cases. When the fish is covered in weed and you need to get right down under it, and landing fish from a boat. This can be tricky at the best of times depending on conditions. A lightweight, stiff net just makes it easier.
I agree that if you're just scooping fish from a weedless straightforward swim any net will do. But why not get one that is light and stiff when it's the same price as one that isn't?

Lost a couple of nets over the years by leaving them laid in reed beds
Last few I have had have been JRC and found them spot on for the money

Nothing wrong with the existing Fox Warrior net, but I have just purchased a Rod Hutchinson 42inch Sceptre landing net so I have 2 for carp fishing.
£60 for the one piece handle.

I use an Advanta Discovery CX Rover net and it's does the job very nicely. Super stiff carbon composite two piece handle and comes with integrated floats.

Not sure RH would have had his name associated with some of the crap that has his name on these days, quite sad really.
Most of the gear with his Monica is way behind others in the market, heavy, poor quality and over priced for what you get.

Sadly like some Fox, Nash, Ridgemonkey, et al, overpriced and definitely some poor quality gear.

Yes Mate.
I did choose a new net after looking around, not just at RH gear.
To me I don't need bells and whistles, I just need a set of arms that go in the spreader block, a mesh that's deep enough.

Just bought a pair of Cygnet Snipers for £80 off AD - the blocks look tiny and won't probably work but for the money even if these end up as spares they look fine for most UK fishing - 2piece carbon with carbon arms and a deep mesh - whats not to like (other than a probably crappy spreader)

Update - Snipers have arrived and tbf I'm impressed for the £
The 2 piece carbon handle is EXACTLY the same barring the logo stickers as the Trakker T8 Sanctuary I also own (and dislike in terms of net shape and depth) - the silly small block actually works fine and its easy to pop the arms in and out without loads of elbow effort - mesh is a 'medium' length and is decent quality . . .I now have a poncy matching pair of nets which is worrying me at my age . . .
