Are these worth the money? Do people think it improves their fishing?

I do think they are handy yes. I've used mine attached to a pole and my SB3 baitboat and also just casted out. One good example this year was it was attached to my boat and I sneaked it about 70 yards in to a lily pad basin and through my binoculars I crept to boat up to the edge of the pads and you could see the pad stems underwater on the deeper chirp. I'd never use it to find fish but its capability to read the lake topography is spot on. A really useful piece of kit.

Not sure how to qualify those 2 points really, very subjective.
Worth the money. From my perspective yes as mine does the same job as my old RT4 Chirp enabled boat at half the cost.
Improve...hmm...improves my well being v standing out in the rain with a rod/marker/lead, sitting in my bivvy with the deeper behind my boat
I suppose they run less risk of spooking a fish v dragging a line or lead over them.
If used with a boat and range extender you can see things at ranges you couldn't cast to with a rod.
I've been lucky enough to check mine v a known lake bed and it was accurate for depth and hardness. It even showed lilly growth at various depths from winter slumber to hitting the surface. It showed a old sunken pontoon and a fish in the form of a Pike, so I have no doubt it will show Carp.

Honestly, I think I just prefer a lead.. The deeper did help on a really weedy water, as I could find areas of lighter weed - then switch to the lead, to find the exact spot.
But to be honest, I just find that good standard watercraft combined with accurate leading and knowledge of the lake is better..

Money isn't the the problem as they save so much time literally a day can allow me to map out 10,000 sq meters or something daft you just can't do that with a marker. I use mine to drift across the water whilst fishing. I'm fishing a 45 archer lake that's 54 ft deep and I'm buggered if I'm going to use a marker on that.
More over I was fishing two lakes during the last decade and felt I knew the waters well and low and behold a crease up from the dam wall that was 18' deep no one knew if was there.
Now I do use it in conjunction with a marker and leading rod the marker is fixed in general the act as a visual aid and the lead to for confirmation

Thanks for all the replies really helpful, was just wondering are you able to save individual mappings of swims or it is just an overall of the lake. For example can I map one swim out save it and then come back to it at a later date and still the depths and weed growth etc?
I cant comment on this brand in particular, but I'v had a similar one from Horizon Fish Finders, and it's impressive, its the one with the colour screen.

I shall be trying for it come the warmer weather.

I have one, does what it is supposed to do
. Wifi connection and GPS position are very good, except for when power lines are nearby.

The software with the deeper saves the depth mapping on a google maps style map of UK so you can zoom into a lake and see where you've mapped and the depth contours. Also saves history so can do a replay of mapping if you want. Just need to make sure the Deeper you buy has GPS as don't believe all do.
I mainly use my with a bushwhacker, really like being able to push out pole and find a spot very quietly. Means you know you're placing the rig on the exact spot you want and you know what the bottom is like etc.

Does anyone use there deeper on a standard carp rod rather than a spod rod as deeper advertising that it can be used on a standard rod

I use it on a 3lb rod with 17lb line on but I'm not casting far out and never have had any issues

I don't think casting would be an issue, no heavier than a decent solid PVA bag.
I'd just think about some sort of shock leader etc as risk of pure mono snapping.

I'd also suggest a short wire trace attached to the deeper just to ensure you don't get bitten off by a large pike.

I was an original Humminbird smart cast user / early adopter and that was a game changer on the weedy lake I was fishing at the time . . .distance was its massive downfall (too light and the range was poor) so when the fist deeper was released I bought one; followed by the chirp.
Distance much improved over the smartcast based on the weight (when casting) and range however they can still be annoying in poor conditions without a range extender. Used the chirp on a bait boat for a while but even at range with an extender you can still get a signal failure which is massively annoying . . integrated systems (eg Toslon) on bait boats are far more reliable
Good product on the whole and excellent if your time poor / fish lots of different waters and bait boats are banned - still need to use in conjunction with a bare lead tho IMO
