Has anyone had both of these? I currently have the explorer deluxe but fish out of a car and still find it quite big , I'm debating selling and going for the porterlite 2
Is there much difference in weight size etc
Anyone sold 1 for the other and regretted it or glad they changed

Not had both but my fishing mate has the explorer deluxe
I'm sure his is heavier and doesn't close up as much

Best accesssories for the Porter lite were the straight arms and the chair but they discontinued them for some reason
bag on the Porter lite is rubbish and rubs on the wheel hopefully they have changed that now apparently a bungee sorts that out but imo it shouldn't happen

The bag rubbing on the wheel is my one major bug bear with my Porterlite. Other than that it is great but the bag has now been worn through so debating a replacement bag or changing the barrow for one that doesn't have that issue

yes the NEW mk2 portalite has a different bag that does not rub anymore

Ive multiple models of barrows over last 20years but would never part with the Porterlite 2 which i bought in mid 2000s .... Its so light and easy to use and perfect for days or minimal overnighters .... Additional straight handles and the puncture proof tyre are both worthy accessories

I own a Fox explorer deluxe and a original porterlite

and prefer the Fox explorer deluxe as I like the fact I can leave most things on the barrow just throw the elasticated cover over it gives me lots more room in my shelter and faster to pack up too

I've had both, but now use the porterlite.

Less bits and folds up smaller, i didnt need the extra carrying space at the front on the Fox.

Both good bits of kit, but for different reasons. if you dont take the kitchen sink (though i still can fit everything on for 3 days) then the porterlite for me. thats without the underbarrow bag which i could never be arsed with.

I have a prestige mk 8 power porter but sometimes for a day session or on certain waters its not needed or unsuitable.
Bought a portalite 2 this week. What a superb barrow for the money £144 is a bargain
Great barrow bag with buckles to secure it at the front so cant rub on wheels like earlier model

I had a fox explorer which was a good barrow but all the threads went in the thumb screws, the tyre exploded and it just didnt last well.

Christ! ... Is that what a Porterlite costs these days ... I think I paid less than £60 when I bought mine

I always cast an eye over 'which barrow threads' just in case something has cropped up in the last 20 years that is a lighter/smaller & better than my ancient Porterlite. Good to know I'm still not missing out

Likewise, think i paid £50-£60 for mine new as well, in the last 5 years its now had a coat of black hammerite, some pipe lagging in certain areas, a B&Q puncture proof wheel and also the straight handles.

I have the Porterlite with the original bag.
The bag has had a hole rubbed in it from the wheel, but it does get used when I'm carp fishing.

I do use my barrow for pike fishing more than carp fishing as I now struggle to carry my gear.

Pike fishing, the chair goes on the barrow, unhooking mat on that, my kit bag then my rods strapped on top with Sky's long lead.
Pushing the barrow actually helps me balance with my mobility issues.

Carp fishing wise, water goes in the underbarrow bag, along with Sky's food and my bait bucket, and usually an extra coat.
On top the bedchair goes on first, the big RH Monster Unhooking Mat, then my tackle box and food bag, rods on top, again strapped on. The rucksack has already been taken to the swim as I walked around on a fish search.
