That's a blast for the past
I remember making boilies from that mix in my parents kitchen
Smelled like germolene to me. Absolutely no idea what was in it but caught a few carp on it...

Im sure someone can add to this but..

'It had small amounts of pine and lavender in the blend and its code name was Sanilav' (from Hutchies 'Thoughts on bait')

Most likely on or something v similiar to Promix 50/50

White lightning that's a blast from the past. Used to smell about like them fireball gobstoppers you used to get as a kid. Would say the mix contained iso eugenol clove as part of its make up.

Medicinal?

A lot of flavours and scents are used to mask offensive hygiene chemicals. I'm sure a few things share tge same scent.

Asda do a creamy scented candle that smells exactly like the original scopex

Thanks for replies, I just thought about the bait today and had to see what people thought, I presume it was milk protein

Your most likely correct - clove is used a lot in hygienic products.

When most people blindly smell it in a test environment - it gets described as dentist/ hospital smell a lot. or even citrus type aroma by some people.

Clove is used alongside a few root/woody type flavours in root beer, which many people say tastes like a medicine or some kind of disinfectant.

I put Clove oil and cinnamon into my winter Choc/Nut bait. I think it smells Christmassy.

Iso Eugenol is a decent trigger, no idea where it comes from though.

Isoeugenol is an isometric trans and cis one is a crystal and one a liquid has anyone researched which is more attractive to carp. I know it's in ylang ylang oil but I can't remember which isomer is dominant.
Way off original topic, but I've often wondered about isomers and their effect on chemo reception in carp. I.e. do some work and others not.
