I am looking at getting a set of the 12'9" Terry Hearns and need a new rod bag for them.
Currently looking at the TA quiver with adjustable rod sleeves to try and keep the setup as compact as possible.
Are any other quiver setups worth looking at or is a 13ft holdall the way to go?

Any basic quiver and some TA elasticated tip tops if you want compact. I use the Mk2 Hearn's and this suits me perfectly. Don't see the point in enormous great holdalls.

Thats the way I am leaning thanks plus there wont be 3" of excess rod bag. Especially useful in the car! How do you find the tip tops? Tossing up between those or the adjustable rod sleeves, just a bit paranoid about damaging eyes.

I've got one of those in 3 rod for my 12ft rods, great but the reel area is a little tight with three ultegra 5500's so wouldn't take anything bigger. Only discovered this Monday as until then I only kept two rods in it.

I do really like the look of these, Speero seem to be coming out with some reasonably priced well made and well thought out gear

My 12,9 ESP Hearn's fit in my Trakker 12ft bag with room
I recently bought the Korda Compac 13ft for my 12'6 rods. It's nice an compact, the rods are well protected and it's well made. I thought about sleeves and looked at the Speero stuff, but what a faff. Put each rod in sleeve, put each rod in quiver, put hood on quiver. More fabric, zips, clips, bulk, weight and cost than a straightforward rod holdall

Don't use a quiver, the sleeves are all clipped together, the korda is a little quicker and I do prefer it but like I said the reel area on my three rod one is very tight with 5500 reels so no way I would get my 1400p in there. Have thought about the 4/5 rod one for my 13ft rods as it has the up and down system.

I use Aqua 3/4 sleeves with my 12'9” Vertex's.
I can clip the 3 sleeves together for a light bundle, use the quiver with tip tops or use the sleeves and quiver plus hood for the Full Monty package. I have a 4 and 6 rod quiver plus sleeves in the Union Jack version - still going strong 15 years on. The newer ones can be picked up dead cheap on eBay.
Very versatile set up 👍

I have the 5 rod 13ft. It fits 3 rods with 6000T and a 13ft Spod rod with Penn 7000 reel ok. Couldn't get a 5th rod in there I don't think, but I rarely use one. Have to say I've been impressed by the bits of Compac luggage I've used.

Personally I would go for a rod hold-all for the reasons that have already been pointed out.
Depends on what you want to carry but I looked at a few and eventually went for the Sonik compact. Apart from being well padded it has large pockets that will take my brolly nets etc which is what I was after.
I bought a 10 ft but if their 13ft is built the same it's worth a look if you prefer a larger bundle of kit for ease of handling.
If just for rods and bank sticks then there is a lot more choice.

Just go for a 13' 3x rod sleeve - smaller than a traditional 'holdall' and much less faff than a quiver with tip tops / reel protectors / 50mm but ring protectors / 3/4 sleeves / full sleeves / rod bands etc etc etc - better protection for transit and much quicker to set up / pack up

Korda compac sleeves are in my opinion the best on the market. Really well padded. Take all types of rod rings and a nice zipped pocket for leads.
