Hi all, went fishing yesterday it was a lovely day, my problem was I was wearing my welly boots and my feet felt like prunes had to take my socks off and leave my boots open,. Can anyone suggest a good summer shoe for the Summer. Thanks for any advice.

How simple do you want it?
I usually wear my trainers in the summer, although I do put my combat boots on when I walk around the lake.
If it is warm, and I'm on a decent grassy swim I will actually go barefoot.
I'm not a flip-flop or crocs type person.

Sorry Nick, but it's got to be Crocs!! I used to go in trainers or boots (dependant on conditions) and sleep in a pair of lightweight Navitas sliders (no faffing around at night getting your shoes on). But now I've evolved - weather and conditions permitting - just go in Crocs and sleep in them. Done a couple of 24 hour sessions lately in them and they're fine.
Obviously, if conditions are wet, I'll revert to trainers or boots and sleep in the sliders.

If it's dry defo crocs . If it's damp I have some merrell moab goretex trainers .

I use crocs when it's dry. Otherwise it's trainers or a pair of Nash waterproof boots.

as comfy as Crocs but far far superior grip and a doddle to slip on in the night with the backs folded down they are brilliant

from now until the autumn i wear trainers during the day and take a pair of crocs/sliders to slip on during the night.

Went last week for 4 nights and didn't change out of my Nike Sliders & thermal socks. Lovely.

Like the look of those, are they worth a hundred quid? All day comfortable for walking and driving.

They are designed for walking up to rock climbing routes so they are very robust. They are extremely comfortable because they mould around your foot as a result of the lacing system. However, they are not waterproof. They are somewhere between a trainer, a walking boot, and rock climbing shoes. I think they are well worth £100 but I also do scrambling/hill walking in them as well.

Just get a pair of walking boots and avoid the carp tax. For summer use, the desert boots are really good. Look on Military 1st, they have decent selection. I treated myself to a pair of Lowa desert boots last year, same gear the troops use - just awesome. Crocs and flip flops? Fishing? Besides looking a bit gay, you gotta be kiddin, what with mozzies on the hunt, Sod that.

Sound ideal for me walking on gravel paths and driving, not bothered about waterproofing as I have a similar pait of gore-tex haglofs but they aren't great to drive in.

Hello all. Firstly let me apologise for not replying to your posts , what a lousy couple of weeks I've had, my wife called an ambulance that night and I was taken into hospital where after a few tests I had my gall bladder removed. Spent a week there, came out and spent that night in my own bed, woke the next day with a really bad back during that day I caught the flu with a terrific cough.
This is the first time I've been able to look at the replies. Still don't feel 100% but a lot better. Old age catching up .

Found the navitas weave footwear was rubbish kept slipping off at the heel Got rod of them last year,now Ive just bought the ridge monkey ones and so far so good lovely and comfortable

funny ? I never had that problem with mine in the 2 seasons I used them sounds like they were a size too big ?

Salomon shoes have done me proud over the years, currently have a pair of Keen Targhee 3's and have used basic Karrimor's, go and try them on if you can.

I have a shoe fettish and have way more than ill ever need for both summer and winter
this time of year I ditch the hikng boots and wellies and rotate the 3 below
crocs are as basic as you can get but do the job admirably especially if its dry (can be a nightmare if its wet as not much grip)
I am a massive fan on north face thermoball traction mules - warm and have grip and mega comy and Ive banged the drum on theese to anyone who will listen
and if its damp or rain is due I wear Nike Goretex pegasus - completely waterproof, great soles and mega comfy oh and they are green

Hi, what do people think of the MK2 Navitas Weaves, compared to the MK1 ?
Soles are alot different by the the looks. I have MK2's (not used yet), unsure on the soles for grip.
Read lots of good reviews, but are most for Mk1's.

same here mate i have 4 pairs of em, 2x shoes and 2 of the boots love em every now and again i fabsil gold them aswel.
