Would be interested to find out the proportion of people that pre paid to people paying on the door. When I've gone in the past it's never taken that long to get in to be honest. I no this pre booked ticket less system is the way forward. But i Just cant see them missing out on all that lovely cash on the door to be honest..

It was going to be last minute decision to go anyway. I dont actually need anything, just fancied a day out. Ill put the camo gear back in the cupboard

Never prepaid, never queued to get in more than 5 minutes, always taken advantage of the cheaper ticket if you go after 1pm i think it is and paid on the door, think they will notice a drop in attendees this time because of stopping that.
Like most, never really go for anything in particular, usual an afternoon out with the kids, catch up with a few mates, and pick up the occasional bargain or bundle.
Kids loved it cos they got given hundreds of stickers, got my pants pulled down on the worlds most expensive pic-n-mix (be warned) and saved a few quid by promising them a maccy-d's on the way home instead of buying an over priced festival burger whilst there!
Alas working so cant go even if i want to this year.

If the Northern show is anything to go buy you can expect pretty much almost everything at RRP and very few bargains...

Card machines failed at some shows as it's usually down to WiFi, cash is a good back up as not all the small stalls will be accepting card 👍🏼

My mate just messaged me he is working the show and only 8000 being let in this year per day and anyone who turns up on the day will only be allowed in when someone leaves so as you said 1 out 1 in

I get that's probably for covid reasons when they made that decision. But the show before lockdown had 30000 In over that weekend. I'd be pretty miffed if I was paying for a stand to then find out they've reduced the footfall by 50%. But I suspect they must have been offering some hefty discounts this year.
The sad thing is that I bet next year when all the big boys want back in, all the little traders that have propped up the show for them this year will either get dropped by them like a hot potato or offered stands at prices they can't ever afford.

They didn't have much there. They didn't have their own stand, just a corner of the Gardner stand who are now their distributors.
I picked you up a catalogue that I think has all the new stuff in it.

I thought it was ok tbh.. some good deals on tackle and bait
Got to see what I wanted and a few things I would never knew existed.
My main reason was to see both companies that offered the power barrow conversion. Ended up going for the global angling one.

Very carp orientated this year and a real lack of coarse gear. I bought trent baits fresh ready to freeze SAS boilies at £5 per kilo....bargain and parked just outside the perimeter of the airfield, meaning a two minute walk from my motor to the queue

Bit disappointing I thought tbh, the walk from the car was ridiculous if like us you were parked in the bit to the left as soon as you go through the gate, but on the way back the shuttle bus gave us a lift all the way, didn't stop for anybody else 😂
The two things I went for, nobody had. Prices weren't cheaper for most things and I'd go as far as saying more expensive than you can get them for usually online. I also got some freshwater shrimp from trent baits though. Don't think I'll go again there.

Went today and was pretty disappointed in the whole thing, had walked the whole lot in about 45 mins. Parking seemed like a free for all, so luckily didnt have to walk to far!

Sounds more like "The Big Rip Off", never been to any carp show and at my age, very unlikely I ever will now. Hopefully a few people would have got a few bargains and gained a little more knowledge from some of the exhibitors.

That was surprisingly nice. Walked past and the smell was lovely. Won't be rushing to order but it was good. For the record I didn't pay £7 for the pastie, couldn't bring myself to

On a positive note I did get to see the Energise barrow conversions which were actually very good and after seeing one in the flesh I'm seriously considering getting one.
I also wanted to see John Baker and bought a new fruit blend which is spot on. The ability to have a good sniff isn't something you can easily do over the interweb and with a bottle of flavour being £20 including the postage it gets a bit expensive to buy them as a bit of a punt.
Also had a look at UK Carp Particles. With the less than favourable feedback on Monster Particles lately it was good to find another reasonable supplier. Their Dark Mix was particularly interesting for the shallow water I'm on this year.
Also got to see the Holy Mackerel oils, again not something that a facebook page does justice and I will definitely be getting a few of those for next years predator fishing. I might even sneak a bit into my summer spod mixes.
My mate is after a new shelter and there's really no place better than a show to be able to compare them like for like. Ruled out several for being either way too low or odd dimensions.

Oh I see. No mate I went there as a fully paying punter. I don't think I will be working any more shows for them, I gave them a hand for a few years because the shows take a lot of man power, but in the last few years the business has really gone from strength to strength and they've taken on new staff. So I wouldn't think they'll need me anymore unless perhaps they have sickness or something.
At £10 for chicken and chips I'm thinking screw the fishing gear, next year I want a food stand there. :-)

It's a shame the tyres are not puncture proof on the Global kits,they reply to emails very quickly and they are working on some rear wheels that fit my barrow

Plenty of visitors and exhibitors seem to be experiencing corona symptons or have tested positive for corona after either working or visiting the big one. Hardly surprising considering the lack of ventilation etc

No real surprise, we got there for opening on saturday morning and within an hour its was shoulder to shoulder until about 2pm. Would only take a couple of people infectious to spread it to hundreds

I've just looked at the list for Stoneleigh as it's local to me, hardly anything decent at all and from what I can see only tft there shop wise so no deals to be had... I can't see how they're charging 13 quid entry into that!?

Bit late but here's my tip for next year - just turn up late and get in free . . .!
Only living 10mins down the road from Stoneleigh I went for an hour on Sunday - turned up about 1pm and after a longer than expected stroll from the carpark walked straight in - no checks, nothing.
Bought a carbon NGT throwing stick for £20 on impulse (quite impressed with it for the £) and some NGT tip tops for my coarse rods (£3 per pair!) A tub of 8mm Northern Special pop ups were a little bit cheaper at £6.50 so I snatched them and then wandered aimlessly after having a waggle with some of the new Shimano Barbel rods . . .saw the Jag RP1 in the flesh on the total fishing stand and was disappointed on how ridiculously small and cheap it looked in reality!
Show was actually bigger than anticipated but from what I could see there were few if any deals on other than bulk purchase on particles etc - some ok talks apparently (Bob Roberts) but I caught the tail end of Hamidi waffling on about nothing with Rob Hughes so that was enough to make a swift exit . . .

Didn't know there was a club on there! Have 'guested' the stretch a bit further round (near the old bridge) and had a few nice chub but thought it wasn't worth the stress so haven't bothered since
