Not really interesting, Frank, and other consultants will join with who offers them the most money.
Its a strange move, Mistral being bigger you'd assume they'd afford a better offer but who knows.

Do any of us really take any note when anglers jump to other brands? I don't think it has much impact anymore. If Terry Hearn or Darrell peck moved it may cause a stir but we are all so used to seeing certain anglers move around a lot. Frank is probably just doing what is right for himself, can't blame him for that.

Not blaming him at all just explaining its a job move rather than a quality one.
at the end of the day if you watch a youtube video they will wax lyrical about whomever is sponsoring the video.
I think Terry Hearn is in a unique position in that its one of the relationships thats actually been really beneficial for a brand. others I can think of are the korda boys and mainline, Jerry hammond and mad baits, dave lane and mainline.
Most the others seem to shop seasonally lol

He'd have far more of a role at Mistral if that was the case, with respect to five star they're small, mistral has the buying power to make certain ingredients more financially viable / has a long established network ,you'd think he'd be better equipped for that job with them if that was the case.
he also made that statement when he moved from spotted fin onto vital, at the time spotted weren't rolling their own I don't think where as he got to develop a new bait with vital. Mojo ? I think it was called, although he also developed smokey jack with spotted.
Its allowed to be about money, the very fact he gives so much away free if anything justifies the demands he could carry ( if he so chose ).
Why should he work for free?

Have the bigger brands realised that certain anglers don't bring anything to the table anymore or the fact that having named anglers using your bait won't actually bring more custom? There are better ways to bring new custom in this day and age. If you take Jim Shelley, nobody actually knows what bait company he is with anymore!

I used to use 5 Star and did pretty well on the fish fix. Something changed with the bait after about 2 years (probably about 7 years ago now). They became a bit more inconsistent and i started to struggle so i moved on
I think that bobby has pretty big ideas and this move could see them well. Good luck to them but i certainly wont be going back

Or cares! I think having jim shelly with your company probably does more harm than good in some circumstances
These anglers that bounce from company to company and all say that their new company is the best 6 months before saying the same about the next company is getting silly and just makes a mockery of what said company is trying to achieve
Jim shelly, Frank Warwick, even a certain big caster have now moved allegiance too many times for anyone to take what they say seriously

Jim says on cypography he literally doesn't care about the bait quality if its better or worse than he goes where the money is.
I suppose if its your job eh ? if you have dependants I think anyone would have to factor money into a decision.
It does effect people like jim because frankly he could catch on a rig with no hook

There can't be that much money in it though - can't believe he's getting paid enough to make a decent living by the smaller manufacturers who don't have the turnover. Doubt if there's more than half a handful of "sponsored" anglers with families that earn enough to fish full time just from a bait co. Even from a couple of sponsors.
Unless that's why people now charge £1k for a bivvy......

I'd say by now its more a case of who will take him and I doubt with the profile of a company like he is with someone mentioned "A Carpers Path" who dissolved on the 1st of February he's getting paid anything probably was a free bit of clothing and some bait.

I've never had an interest what angler uses what bait. If anything if can do the opposite in encouraging anglers to use it.
More over heads and more sponsored anglers on board means greater profit needed from the customers.

I thought Dave Little owned " A Carpers Path " bait company. Then I see him the other day on Social media promoting CCMoores.. it's all very fluid this bait game, ain't it..

I'm gonna name one of my baits “the garden path”. Then I'm gonna lead people up it.

I've never understood why this past time has such an interest in the actions of a company salesman.
They aren't promoting this stuff out of the kindness of their heart, and there are many anglers who don't use the products which they are supposed to promote, only whipping them out for a photo op (some on chaps, we can see there is no line running through the rod rings)
Might be a bit of an ageist opinion, and in a way I don't want it to come across the way it does, but I have got no interest in anything most people under the age of 30 have got to say about this game. That is how a lot of lads treat it, a game where they need to score points in the form of pounds and likes. I admire the enthusiasm of a lot of them, but too many have agenda rather than just appreciate it for what it is. I've seen one lad delete ALL the posts he made on instagram which had #thinkingswivels now he has moved to #GnasherTackle. What a waste. Beautiful pics of beautiful fish eliminated because of the allegiances chosen. Ironic thing is he added me. Should have known really. It's almost as bad as the lads on facebook sharing pics of jarred hemp for their mum to like and share.
The above is a tad contradictory compared to my first sentence, but is a reason why I don't hold these people in such a high esteem, and I haven't done for a very long time. There are many on here who I look up to, and have done for a very long time, mainly because they just do it and want little in return despite their massive rewards.
If you're an 8 year old dreaming of catching Mary like I was I'd understand the admiration, but not grown men who pose for pictures with them, or getting their ridgemonkey enhanced tiddies signed with marker pen

Both the people who ran carpers path just gave a brief to the roller I think, certainly they were customers of the same company that rolls it for them now. Probably alright bait to be fair?

They may have done but he uses ACP Baits and they are still trading, probably put all the costs/debts on to A Carpers Path and poof they magically vanished... just a thought but then I am terribly cynical.

I totally agree, some great imagery on insta removed because it doesn't suit the brand they currently use..as for those posting what they've bought, (alright I'll say it paid over the odds for), and post with hashtag this company and that company... Do they do the same when they've done their weekly shopping down Tesco's? They probably do to be fair!!
