I've heard a lot of positive stuff about a rod builder in my neck of the woods called Buzzard Rods. Not a manufacturer as such. But definitely hand built Uk stuff if that's any help.

I'm not sure you can include Chris Orme on this list. The thread title says he's looking for RELIABLE companies.

My mate had a nightmare with him and I seem to remember a lot of other unhappy campers the last time his name was mentioned. Seemed to be a complete lottery if you got your rods.

Never ordered from him Myself but my mate had a decent experience with him lol

I could have said Cotswold rods but they are as bad from some of the stories I have heard

I can highly recommend Calvin Hancock for rod building. Easy to contact and delivered exactly when he said with top quality work. Think he has recently released a net too, but I already have a Chris Brown carbon.

Nevilles stick in the teeth for me. Cracking cases, water ingress, and the modding community means you have to wait months just to get a speaker replaced. All three of mine have been/will be going to Darren Henwood (takes weeks for him to reply let alone fix), Kudos, great comms but also takes a while for repairs...the third which has board issues will be going to Fleet Micro.

I bought a set of three Fox Micron ES for 50 quid as a backup, but I'm just going to flog the Nevilles and use them instead.

With all due respect to the people mentioned for rods, they generally just assemble rods and one will only really differ from the next aesthetically. Harrison, daiwa and century make them.
We excel at centrepin reels, not sure why we can't make a market leading fixed spool
