Anyone had any dealings with this guy, (Kaine Lovett) recently?

I did Wayne, historically he had some service issues but had got these back on track and feedback had improved considerably.....to be fair his comms have been OK but the excuses are wearing a bit thin..

He's done a few bits for me in the past, he's a bit s**t at timescales but his work is good.
I'm not sure i'd use again, looking at the reviews and comments I think i was quite lucky

I'm usually a pretty good judge of charachter but think I may have dropped a bollock here....it's not just the £70 to cover the work but if I end up having to replace the handles that's probably the best part of a couple of hundred...

Not for a few years now, he was spot on with my kit but I did drop the deposit round to his house in cash so he knew I was local and knew where he lived so it would be hard to fob me off. You'll get your handles back, it just may take a while

I ordered some bobbins from him, work looked good and he came across as a decent chap but, never heard a thing from him after ordering apart from fob offs etc, had to get refund from PayPal eventually. Not what you want to hear I guess!!

I had some reel handles and bobbins from Kaine some years ago. The guy was a real pain, it took ages and many phone calls to finally get the stuff from him. He lied saying the bobbins had been lost in the post etc etc etc. On the upside though, his prices and workmanship are top drawer.

Earlier this year I asked him to have a look at making some bigger baseplates for my matrix innovations deluxe snag ears and having sent them off he did eventually look at them and tell me he couldn't do it. After a bit of a nudge, I did manage to get my snag ears back through the post along with some other bits I ordered from him. I wouldn't say the bloke is the quickest outfit around but in my experience he was alright.

I have now had a photo of my completed handles sat in the box that I sent them to him in...but they have not arrived yet despite being told they were posted last Thursday. It looks like the work has been done therefore but perhaps not posted when he said....

He included the handwritten note that I had enclosed in the photo so happy that it is geniune....if he's completed the work then I can't see any reason for him not to send them back and keep making excuses.....apart from finding the time to get to the Post Office.

I never said it had anything to do with it from a consumer point, what I meant was he doesn't rely on it to keep the roof over his head or feed his kids. And therefore isn't overly worried about custom for lvc.
I agree that he should either up his game or just pack it in, but while people are still putting business his way then neither will happen.

Glad you've got them back, he was lording it up on Facebook last year about how he'd sorted himself out and wouldn't let anyone down. Obviously he'd got more time on his hands with furlough then.
Wait till it rains and they start to peal, his prices are cheap but he's definitely not worth the hassle.
