It does seem so. They surely need to review their IT capability!
Yes, 502 error. the web site received an invalid response..etc etc.

Calm really do need to sort their life out, the ordering system is shocking!

Must be costing them more money in lost orders, than it would to upgrade it properly to deal with new released books people want...

They just posted this, why do they host their site with a vendor who doesn't have proper resilience, power backup etc.

6/12/21

Due to a Power Cut at our website hosting address, the site has been temporarily taken down, so we can make sure all is secure when we can power up again.

There are protocols we have to follow as we take payments on line, so this may take a few hrs once power has been restored.

We will post back up when all checks and checks have been made.'

Indeed. Site was fine at 11.58am this morning - they put Northern Chapters on sale and then there's a mysterious power cut at exactly the same time? They have clearly not made any changes to their site infrastructure since the fiasco of Tel's last book.

what a load of crock!!!

had book in cart but couldnt pass the log-in page to proceed to check-out then crashed again......

i cannot see why Gaz and Sam went to Calm after the Terry Hearn debacle last year.........

Do not believe the power cut at all.....

why was there no Buy tab for the cloth bound limited versions??? surely they werent all bought when the website was crashing

It's back up now and running fine and the cloth bound available now too. The "power cut" is clearly over. Or everyone gave up and went away so the site isn't crashing any more

They messed me about badly a few years ago. And I never use them any more as you cannot trust them.

I didn't have any issues . Really looking forward to this book

Ordered today...looking forward to reading a bit of 'northern' history.

You don't get power cuts at offsite hosting?!?

They have Uninterruptible Power Supplies and then back up generators to recharge the batteries. And that is at a semi competent data centre. Our company used to have 2 weeks of diesel on hand to run the generators and I would expect that AWS or Azure today would be far more resilient.

Anyone received their copy yet as they were dispatching from the 13th? just wondering if anyone has got a copy yet and what condition it's arrived in as when they distributed T.H's last book I can remember quite a few where upset with the condition they arrived in mine wasn't the best with crushed binding and corners.

They've packaged the books much better this time around.

E-mailed them earlier today and just had a response that it must have gone missing and is probably being directed back to them?? so there sending another today, I'm guessing it wasn't sent in the first place I ordered on the 13th and when I emailed prior to Christmas it was shown as posted the same day I e-mailed them in that instance on the 21st with assurance it would be here before Christmas.

I suspect they did post it - mine was mailed out on the 15th and I only received it on Friday..from speaking to our postie - a lot of RM sorting offices have a huge backlog they are still working through....

that's what they told me, too, that customs might have rejected it and that it might have been sent back to CP. They would look into it...
