I am in the market for a new brolly system for around £300.
I could do with one that hasn't got a massive footprint but has a bit of room inside,also one that doesn't suffer heavily with condensation.
Any suggestions would be great 👍🏻

The Rod Hutchinson Cabrio Hybrid Brolly is what I use, both with and without the extension.
You can fix it on storm sticks or with the front hoop bars.
Proper piece of kit, I absolutely love it. Plenty of room

You can get a Trakker Tempest brolly with a skull cap for roughly that if you shop around and I highly recommend that. I've also been looking at the Solar offerings which look very good, again will be around your budget

I enquired about the solar sp brolly system but they have stopped doing them,the undercover they do isn't as good a material.
Regarding the tempest do you have any issues with condensation and are they dark inside during the day,bizarre question I know but a lad I know claims his dripped with moisture all the time and it was bright inside,I think myself he could of had one of the older ones

I have never had an issue with condensation in any of my tempest brollys. I have a 100t at the moment. its not dark dark during the day inside but the material is 10,000hh so it is quite shaded - much better than the hide xl I used to have!
If you want a setup that is really dark inside during the day the aquatexx material is great, or the Cyprinus Typhoon is a cheaper alternative.

I reckon the 100T is pretty much the perfect shelter. Goes up quick, packs down small enough, decent head height, vents for the summer. You have the option to buy all the add on nonsense but I just use it as it is year round.

I have the 100T and have never had a problem with condensation. But I always use a ground sheet and the cap and fish with the front open.
I guess if you fished on grass, no ground sheet, door closed or boiled your kettle in it you will get condensation like every other shelter.

I have a V2 brolly and never had an issue with condensation but I do not use a solid front panel, just mozzy mesh. I do often use a skull cap which does create more shade during the day, but again cannot claim in to be dark in there, but that isn't something I want. I am looking around for a replacement as really want vents which the V2 does not have. Happily considering the newer Tempests (can't justify the Aquatexx cost) but wanting to see the Solar offerings in the flesh before I spend my hard earned

its actually a lot lighter than they state but Solar dont give a toss about altering their mistake ( very tempted to report them to trading standards )

Complete system storm poles pegs etc as it came after removing the box 7.3kg
I can get my bed right to the back without touching the sides with enough room for my other bits

I would check out the Wychwood, I think it's based around their MHR brolly which is a quality bit of kit

just be aware of the foot print. height and lack of rear vents not really like a traditional brolly either

Aqua Fast & Light mk2. Had mine three years, superb. I added the overwrap to it for colder nights, which essentially twin skins it and reduces any propensity for condensation. Have a look at the cyprinus range.you can get brolly systems and a tempest clone a bit cheaper.I have the typhoon storm and the k2 brolly both great bits of kit.

So. It has separate mozzi mesh doors.
If you want to stop the rain getting in you need to swap doors?.. That's not a good selling point to me, why don't they just have covers on the mesh?

Damn! It's also only 55inches, I'm used to a 60 inch umbrella, I wonder if that will make a big difference?

I have a cyprinus fast and light and it's all I use now, bought an overwrap for it and it's great, pitch black on the inside in the day with the door closed, no leaks and sturdy in a wind.
The reason it doesn't have zip in panels etc is in the name, it's a small pack down and lightweight. I've had a 60 inch brolly and honestly prefer smaller shelters but that's personal preference. I can fit my wychwood tactical bed up to the back and still have a decent peak to not get wet in the night without the overwrap.

you stick the front on but as said below the clue is in the name fast and light so most users dont bother with a front at all and tend to be anglers not campers
great shelter for a certain type of angler too low for me personally but some people love very low shelters

I have an old aqua 60 inch umbrella that I use most of the time,(all weathers) it has velcro panels that fit in the front, they are mossi panels with roll down doors if heavy rain is blowing in.. I would be really happy with this if it wasn't for the velcro (a Zip would be luxury) and the fact it has no vents..

I've had the Solar Undercover system for a couple of months. It's a really great bit of kit. Much higher front than my mates Tempest (don't know what version of the Tempest he had though), but 3 pegging points so can be set lower if needed. I can get my bedchair straight across the back and there's room for my kit as well.
Big vents in the back, the front is really easy to zip on as well. Goes up really quickly and the material is thick and feels quality. I'm well happy and can't see me changing it for a long time. I've got 3 bivvies that don't get a look in now unless it's a long session.
And as Gerry said, it's miles lighter than the specs say - over 3kg lighter for the whole bag of kit. Only thing I could criticise is that they could have included a groundsheet, but I'm not really bothered as I just stick a couple of £1 tarps in the bag that weight nothing.

Just been out on the bank and seen a lads fast and light,brand new out the box,quality bit of kit no question.
But it's all a bit cramped in there,i fish light as well but watched the lad struggle of how best to have his gear.

Always had a lot of love for RH gear, tackle and bait, even when I had to pay full price.
Bivvies that stood up to the abuse I throw at them, baits that caught wherever I used them (in common with some others to be fair), and rods that felt (and still feel good).
Don't get me wrong, I loved my Century Armalites 1 and 2's, Sp's and NG's, but my budget priced The Ones are as good for a cheaper rod.
Going back to the RH Cabrio umbrella system, I used it last night for the first time with the overwrap as it was supposed to get cold. The heavy rain beaded and ran off, and this morning despite it being an overwrap on a brolly, there was no condensation inside.
Easy enough go put it on over the brolly, the front clips itself onto the front stormbar, and then pegs pull it away far enough from the brolly

I'm just going to reccomend a trakker tempest brolly because ive got one. Honestly tho, i cannot see me ever changing. Ive got the V2 but the new one with vents looks even better. Ivehad a nosh titan and fox supa brolly and the tempest blows both out the water in all areas with ease.
