Sales can't be good if they are having to discount at this time of year.

Don't they do multiple sales/discounts throughout the year?

A mate that i fish with almost weekly who has used monster red religiously since it came out told me that the last 50 kilos that he bought was really inconsistent in terms of texture, colour and even smell. Quite of character for baitworks but worth knowing

I have only ever had one issue with any baitworks product which was the pellet. Despite being stored correctly, I had around 3 kilo of pellet go mouldy in the bag. Upon contacting them I was told it only has a three month shelf life which I have never heard of in a pellet. That said I have caught so many fish on their bait. In the past Atlantic Heat and more recently I have switched to Royale Marine which has caught almost from the off. The Scent from Hell pop ups have accounted for most of my bigger uk fish. In my eyes, Baitworks are definitely a reliable company. I'm sure if he called Mark and explained he would sort something for him

Normally Christmas and New Year, this is the busiest time of year for bait companies, why discount now if you didn't have too 🤔 Essential baits even put on their website lead times are longer due to demand.

Because someone that's never used bait works might give it a go, catch a few then keep on ordering even when it's not discounted

Just Buisness. Time of year when everyone is buying bait. Just trying to influence people into buying theres. They've just moved into bigger premises taken on a couple of so called names in Gaz Fareham and Alfie Russell. No doubt increasing there out goings. Just trying to keep the money rolling in.

I had a dodgy batch of Atlantic Heat once, they were really soft, couldn't put a baiting needle thru em. OK to use as freebies. Bought 10Kg of them a few years ago on a Black Friday deal, but because I didn't open them until summer of the following year, they wouldn't give me 10Kg of bait. They ended up giving me 4Kg and a couple of tubs of hard hookers. That was the last time I used them.

I've found consistency issues too. Creamino liquid seems to change every batch, buoyancy of hookbaits changes. I think at its best is great bait but you think you'd nail down quality control.

Alfie and Gaz on board.
Thought they were both quite happy at Aquabaits and Sticky.
Interesting times.

They gave you 4kg of bait and some hook baits to replace bait you had bought 6 months ago?

I just cant believe they would give you any kind of refund for it being too soft after 6 months. Actually, i cant belive after 6 months you would complain.

It is when you have loads of crayfish in the water you fish. Irrespective of this, a frozen boilie should be able to withstand having a baiting needle pushed through it without breaking the hookbait in half, don't you agree? Even if they are 6 months old.

Why wouldn't you complain? Had 2 previous batches that were spot on, and the 3rd batch wasn't. Don't really see the relevance of them being 6 months old, they would have been soft if I'd opened them on day 1. It just happened that I had some of the previous batch left over so didn't open them until the following summer.

Its a 6 month old fresh food item that you're complaining is soft. Id have expected most companies to kindly tell you where to go.

Good customer service that. Even when your not legally obliged to replace. To still offer something in way of compensation keeps the customer happy and hopefully coming back for more.

So does anyone feel they have had a ‘bad batch' of bait other than the time mentioned? I have heard this on a few occasions now with regards to Baitworks. I have to say I love some of their products. I would be gutted to feel I could not trust them if there was legitimate consistency issues. Its scrambling my little fishing brain a bit lol

That's why I stopped using them Scotty. Time on the bank is valuable and you want to be fishing as efficiently as possible with baits that are up to the job.

I'd used Atlantic Heat for about 3-4 years and really rated them, they're top draw boilies. Just didn't want to run the risk again.

Been using them for a few years now, 1st Atlantic Heat, more recently Monster Red and never had any issues with quality, that said I only use about 50-60kg per year.
My experience is Top notch quality and service all the way.

You will find 'issues' with most bait companies if you dig deep enough and sometimes those complaining have vested interests to bad mouth said company (not saying this is the case here)

If you love their products use them until such a time when/if you experience issues is my advice. Take as you find.

By nature I believe Baitworks baits to be made of very soluble ingredients and therefore softer than some other alternatives. I know from experience, that standard boilies from the packet get whittled down in the lake after using them as Hookbaits. I only see this as a positive when it comes to free offerings. As I have said my only issue previously has been with some pellet BUT I do feel that there is something ‘extra' about baitworks that makes it amongst the leading bait makers in the U.K

Deano...You make a very valid point

What do you use Wayne? Just got onto the Royale Marine after previously using Atlantic Heat. It absolutely stinks but early results are good for me!

Heat has always been soft! Buy some hard hookers, the bait might be soft but it'll catch you a stack of fish!!

Creamino is so spicy! Took me by suprise when I tasted it. Loved the smell of the Monster Red too, just didn't seem to catch from the off on my waters like Atlantic Heat and Royale Marine did!

Been using atlantic heat and creamino for a couple of seasons, now using their base mixes and liquids,
Had some very good results on them both,
Hard hookers, pop ups and wafters have all caught me fish.
Happily carry on using them 👍

In what way have your orders been bad? I know they have recently moved factory. Maybe there was a few issues within that time that caused some bait not to be rolled to standard? Not trying to make excuses for them. Speak as you find, I guess. It is interesting though, that in more recent times, people are starting to notice discrepancies within their baits

First order sent out the wrong bits and had to chase them to rectify the mistake, second time blaming the courier for a non delivery and having a very blasé attitude towards putting it right and then just taking forever to get an order posted to me I ended up cancelling, all logistical problems not questioning the products but always had brilliant service from them up to that point hence the question about the ownership.

Told you pal! It took me by surprise based on smell alone. It wasn't until I tasted I realised the spice content. I didn't use it for long as I already had plenty of other bait. It was more out of curiosity. I wouldn't hesitate to use it at a later date though!
