Been out since Wednesday morning on a little lake that had a fish kill last year,hopefully it's back to its old self now if not soon it's not known for big fish but used to be a good winter water.
Now I'm in my bivvy and I did lose a fish last night and I'm packing up tomorrow but it's great being tucked up in my trakker bivvy,it's absolutely pissing it down been doing it now for nearly an hour and no sign of stopping or slowing down.
Does anyone else like being out when it's like this I love it especially summer time just listening and watching it Chuck it down and had a buddy come down last night to fish till Saturday we both agreed it's nice to be out when it's like this.
Oh and I just made myself some rib eyed steak burgers and found a bloody big slug in my bag of lettuce🤢🤢 and I snapped my adjuster off my nash bed chair Wednesday morning to,hopefully I'll be rewarded with a fish on my mat this time

Nothing better than listening to the rain bounce on the bivvy.The only thing I like more is watching a mate get a run and it turn out to be a bream

The best part about the rain is when it stops. I hate being stuck in a bivvy when it's raining, I get bored and fall asleep.

All part of the experience, quite exciting when it's thrashing it down and your under a brolly or shelter and your dry

I HATE packing up in the rain though

Due to the Mrs making plans for me over the weekend, decided to finish work early and get 5 hrs or so in yesterday. Got drenched through packing up at 9.30 along with the long walk back to the car.
When I got back in the house she did not say a word, the look on my face and dripping clothing was enough.
No problem drying the some of the gear off in the kitchen though🤔, the rest in the shed

I actually really like fishing in the rain, seems to really turn the fish on to feed in a couple lakes I fish. All though I like the summer and the sun (can sit out in it all day) most of the time the days are completely pointless to fish in, I just fish the nights. Obviously I'd still go during the summer but prefer the spring/ autumn and winter for my fishing

A friend is even worse than me he won't go if it's sunny and hot at all, completely refuses

I hate sitting in the sun,it's in the shade or bivvy/brolly for me

Plenty of the wet stuff out there now..,looking black as a crows arse'ical on the moors..

I too ,hate fishing in hot sunny weather,I won't go,unless I go through the night..I remember being over in France,on my Aunt,Uncles fishery,..it was so hot in the crappers in the morning sun,sauna like really..

A tip...maybe,get a dpm basha,..when it's raining ,dry off as much as you can under your shelter,cover thie gear with a basha whilst packing down the bivvy,most of my kit is dry before getting home...it works,especially if you use a barrow ..!..a basha is brilliant multi use,..

Love being tucked up under my bivvy when it's raining, especially at night. A bit of thunder rolling around in the distance adds to the atmosphere.
Somehow find it very therapeutic.

snap mate, hate the blaring sun, prefer wind, rain, snow etc to the sitting there in the bright sun

As nice as it is to be sat in the bivvy listening to the rain pounding down, it does have its bad sides. Nothing no worse when you want or need to listen to something on the radio and even with volume full on, you cannot hear it, or it suddenly make you remember that you have left the waterproofs in the car, despite telling yourself, you need them but convincing yourself its not going to rain and you look out at the rods praying to not get a run and the rain is heaving down in bucket fulls.

I had that happen to me once,I ended up playing the fish sat under the peak of my aqua m3.My nephew took a picture of me as he thought it was hilarious.The better part of it was when he got a screaming run minutes later and had no waterproofs and could not play it from his bivvy,he looked like a drowned rat

Life is full of memories brought about by smells - (behave you lot 🤣 .

I love the smell after a downpour in summer, the sounds of trees dripping and the refreshed atmosphere. You feel alive and a fish is just a bonus
