Looking a getting a set of 10ft rods, fishing a fairly small water biggest chuck max 60-70 yards. What do peole recommend? Don't want to break the bank roughly £400 for the set. Thanks

Have a look at the Future fishing Custom 10 footers (Powermesh blanks).

Been using mine since April and have been well impressed.

Of the 10ft'ers ive owned the gardner gtc's were a pretty special bit of kit.

Don't have to spend that much to be honest - I got a set of 3 x 10' Daiwa Black Widow G50s in the boxing day sales. They do everything I need them to, 70yd chuck, nice action. Even have nice cork handles. Had loads of fish on them to over 20lb. The prices was £76 for a set of 3.

I recently bought a set of Wychwood Extricator Plus rods. Very nice rods with a nice playing action. I had the cheaper Extricator MLT already which are nice rods for the money, but the Plusses are in a different league.

I've got tacklebox cfx 10ft 3lb tc rods amazing rods look great too, only downside to me is no line clip on them.

Have the matching spod marker rod too

I use the Smart clip from Delkim, it's better then a standard line clip imo.

I use Avid Traction pro's in 3lb, cracking rods, full length butts, 1k weave and only around £80 each. There's a set of 3 in the classified for £185 posted, bargain

By set, do you mean two or three rods? I use Free Spirit 10ft Hi S 2 3/4lb tc - full cork, off the shelf build. £400 would get you two of them. They are excellent rods - I use mine for small water fishing and margin work up to around 50 yards. Also use them for stalking. Everything about the rods is brilliant. I would imagine it would hard to find better.

I'd give tacklebox a call or email about the rods as I ended up going 3lb tc because of the action of them and I fish similar range to yourself with PVA bags

5500 XTDs here upgraded the drag washers tho as the standard setup wasn't very responsive to adjustments and acted quite sticky at times.

Would have preferred esp onyx compacts but couldn't find any in my price range at time of purchase.

Okuma 6000 Inc, mini pit reel perfectly matched. I have ss2600 but honestly prefer the okumas and half the price
