You'll get a load of smart arses going on about bakers/breadcrumb etc just because they've read stuff on the internet. I'm sure it's not a HNV bait by any means, but if you can get it at a decent price it will catch plenty of fish (like bread)

Would guess it's pretty similar to the Munch Baits stuff which I used over winter. A similar price too. It worked for me, it caught me fish and was cheap, I only needed 5Kg at a time so didn't have to buy loads to get it cheap. Mission accomplished. Pretty sure the Urban stuff will catch you fish........... just like bread.

The lake ive started fishing responds really well to nut baits, so I just want a 5 kilo bag of a shelf life nut bait to mix in with my tiger nuts, so was between this Manilla or monster tiger nut

If AD are selling it at £30 for 5kg they are buying it for £15 for 5kg, by the time Urban have taken their pound of flesh covered labour, delivery etc it doesnt take a genius to realise it isn't going to contain the highest quality ingredients in the world. BUT whether that matters to the fish or not is another matter.

You're right, the same bollix would always come up by those who know jack all and are happy to snipe at a good man's business. I know a couple of lads who have used Terry's tuna bait for years......they catch loads and loads of fish!

It's normally £40 for 5 kilos, as is most baits they sell, just the 12mm are on offer for like £31, plus they have a 10% off on all bait so it's like £28 after that, thought it might be worth a go for that 😂

Whilst I tend to agree with you. I think in this case there is a grain of truth. I seem to remember that ABS put out a statement saying they did not want to be associated with Nutcracker as the two parties had a difference of opinion on bait ingredients. I can't recall them ever doing that with anyone else they've rolled for so I'm guessing they must have been some way apart.

Indeed Tel is one of Warburtons best customers !! As for ABS I think the issue was that their rolling machines couldn't handle the amount of breadcrumbs in the mix 😉

Unlike a lot of stuff that is posted on the internet though, it is actually true. It is cheap and it catches fish. Its not something that i would ever use but you pay your money, you take your choice

I'm not denying it may hold truth, just correctly predicting that the same old boring people would make the same old boring jokes rather than the OP getting any useful info.

Seems to happen on nearly every thread at the moment mate, its so predictable and boring.

OP I know a couple of lads who have done well with it in the past, albeit on an easy water. I'd look elsewhere if I wanted a better quality nut bait...ABS would be my starting point

People sharing unbiased information based on experience - Yes.

People with nothing better to do, posting on every thread regurgitating the same old unsubstantiated twaddle for a cheap gag - Probably not so much.

But now I'm also distracting from the OP, so I'll pipe down.

To be honest, im not fussed either way.

Its not a product that interests me in anyway.

i always remember going to one of the carp shows and a friend at the time went to Urbans stand.

The "salesman" went off on one about the quality of the nuts they use blah blah blah....i couldnt help myself but to intervene and ask some more technical questions surrounding the sourcing of said nuts, bearing in mind i was (at the time) consulting for 2 of the countries largest nut importers and their processing plants.

the crap that come out of his mouth was nothing short of comical.

Terry was also offered work for poacherbaits when he came out of nik to tie him over...shortly after, Urban baits was born.

"Terry also worked for poacherbaits when he came out of nik...shortly after, Urban baits was born".

That's simply not really true Joss. I was there and it involved me. He never 'worked' for Poacher Baits as far as I know. I was given 50kg of T&M, I was asked to give 25kg of it to Tel which I did. He sold it to his brother, which at the time gave me the ump as I was helping him with his book and my friend Gary had tried to help him. As far as I know that's the only involvement he had with Poacher.

Anything he learned about whatever, came from a different source. Not the one which you are implying. If you dig back far enough on the SHB Faceache page... There's photo's of him with fish caught on S2's, before "urban' became a thing. Before that he's never used a nut based boilie in his life. My new business was doing well and it was very visible to my so called friends. Not long after he went back down Geoffs and was selling nut mix cork balls et al. We've never spoken since, after I'd just written most of his book and helped teach him to read & write over a three month period. That should speak volumes.

Poacher were offered 50% of SHB before it ever started. Gary did not want anything to do with it, he'd had a bad experience with some cork balls from the old UB Baits owner, so thought there was no future in the concept. He was just about to get Gavin involved in the business too. So we went our separate ways.

I tend to stay out of this stuff mate... But I had to comment when i read that, as it was not strictly true.

People talk, information gets muddied and stories change.

It's all in the past now anyway. Better left that way. Lessons were learned.

Yes Joss. The original which was put to Gary was to produce the S2 as a T&M version in the Poacher baits yard, with the T&M liquids added to the cures.

I was clearing a work cupboard the other day, I found some bottles from Gary, brought a tear to my eye. I'm absolutely gutted I did not ever get to see him again before he passed.

I don't even mention that persons name anymore.

All in the past and water under the bridge now.

I photo'd a 61lb6oz mirror for some fella yesterday from the 400 acre Theale lagoon. It will be the British record one day Joss.

You'll hopefully see me holding it at some point.

Be lucky Joss.
