How far do you guys drive to get to a lake ? I've done about an hour an a half one way. I've heard of people doing 2 and a half to 3 hour one way. Or do you like staying local as such

I fish fairly local 30mins away sometimes but most of the lakes I fish are 2/3 hours away each way, just depends where you want to go to fish

I'm lucky that my club lake is 20 min drive one way. But have looked at other clubs to join but hour and half or so away.

I travel from Rochdale to my club waters in Allostock and Sandbach 40-50 miles one way to do a maximum 36/48 hour session.

100 miles each way which takes 1hr 40 to get there leaving home at 4am and anything up to 3 hours (last week) to get home depending on the M40 & M25

A mate of mine used to travel 2 1/2 hours one way, then back home, after work twice a week to bait up a swim before his 3rd trip back that week to fish it.

Previous has been as far as 85 from Ipswich to Earith, or 75 to Nazeing.

I used to travel 80 miles each way to fish a day only water. The drive there was fine at 3 or 4 am, the drive back not so enjoyable.

11 minutes....full of 30s and 40s....days only park lake

Gave that 2 seasons but it became too much.
Now on a local syndi which is 20mins away 😁

Got a club ticket that is 15 mins walk which I took out when we weren't allowed to drive last year and I quite enjoyed the fishing short sessions so kept that. My main syndicate is about 40 mins away and have my name down for one that is about 90 mins away. Used to happily travel 2 to 2 1/2 hours before I got on this current syndicate

2 1/4 hrs 120 miles one way ,but i can drive around whole complex and fish out of van .

A guy I use to fish with now lives in Manchester. He drives from there to Ringwood way to fish. Think its about 250 miles one way for him. Does 2 night then back home

10 minutes from home or 10 minutes from school drop.

most of my waters are 40-50 miles away, an hours drive each way on motorway and a-roads and i do this trip for an afternoon/evening session each week

Typically between 30 - 45 minutes each way, depending on traffic and time of day etc.

The lakes that I fish are 45-60 mins away. Used to drive 90 mins before I moved.

Ten to forty minutes depending on which club venue I fancy fishing

5mins, 30mins, 40mins.
With the occasional 90min trip to the trent barbel fishing

40-50 mins depending on traffic

Unfortunately where I need to live and where I want to fish have rarely lined up. 90 mins has been about average and I'm fine with that.

Pond 1 - 20min drive on rural roads
Pond 2 - 40mins up the M20

As I do mostly overnighters, option 2 isn't an option on School nights

25 minutes for a club lake that to be honest id rather feeder fish for F1s and bream as had the carp i want and a lot of the carp fishermen on there are grumpy miserable sods most of them use fishing to get drunk and high as a kite which i want no part in.

1hr 30 for small syndicate hardest place I've ever fished but its so tranquil quiet and out the way its what i imagine carp fishing to be nice estate lakes hidden away by trees clear water to watch the fish and no shopping trolleys or drunken morons and as i fish during the week more often than not i only see 1 or 2 other people there

Few club waters that are within a few miles. Day tickets around 2 hours. My new syndicate is around 100 miles.

For me I'm based in Reading and have a huge expanse of waters within half hour from me so pretty lucky! Would probably travel an hour or 2 if needed.

I don't drive but my brother pops me to a lake down the road about 10 minutes drive and lane is on the side of the road anyway

My syndicate water is 3 miles from my house but I'm looking at another one which is not even half a mile away.......

As I now reside in Slovakia. I have waters 10 mins either direction that I have a ticket for and live by the river hron. But have been travelling 2 hrs one way to a water . But when the borders are open I can imagine I will be travelling a lot further. Balaton is 3hrs away . And would like to have a crack on lake bled which is 6hrs

i have 1 club water 5 mins away put the parking situation really puts me off so generally drive to my other club which is about 30mins away, but i would be willing to probs do an hour ish away for the right place!

3.5 hours but I usually do 3/4nighters so no problem. Love the lake. Nothing like it locally.

7 mins in the car to get to mine :-)

i live in cheshire and drive down to oxford,but i do 5 nights at a time and once a year do 7 so its not that much of an issue .

Used to be 1.5/2hrs (depending on the m25) done that for 2 years but it was too much for me.
Now it's 20mins!! ☺️
