Who uses tubing?
There is a leader ban on the lake I fish and I was using the rig morole braided tubing but the bailiff accused me of using a leader the other day. I showed him it was tubing but he said he didn't like it
So I'm thinking now of just using mono line straight through and see how he like that. I can't be doing with threading rubber tubing again after using that... my eye sight is not the best!

Technically it's still tubing 🤷🏻♂️
I've found korda dark matter very easy to thread and that's my go too when using tubing

Rigmarole is the best tubing out there - suggest you save a length and strangle/garrotte the bailiff with it commando style when he's not looking . . . put him out of his obvious bailiffy misery . . .

I use tubing a lot because leaders seemed to be banned everywhere I fish. I used to use Korda Dark Matter, but it's expensive and I don't like lining the pocket of Mr Fairbrass, he already has enough money in my opinion. Just switched to hls-products tubing on ebay, it's half the price of the Korda stuff and seems OK. But as you say, a pain in the backside to thread. Easy at home, but difficult on the bank when it's peeing down with rain. You can use the diamond eye threaders that pole anglers use to thread elastic thru their poles, but it has to be pretty kink free or you'll struggle to get that thru the thin bore of the tubing.
Only other piece of advise is that if you're fishing 2 rods, make sure you have 1 (or 2) spare rods made up with tubing on and rig, so that if you get into a tangle or cast into a tree like I do regularly, you have spare rods ready to go and don't have to faff around threading tubing in the night when it's peeing down!!

Goes to show what a jobs worth knob the bailiff is, someone's given him a bit too much power. I've used loads of different tubing because we have a leader ban and found the rig marole to be the easiest to use.

Seems quite a few waters are doing the same of late. Had the dilemma myself, LONG time since I have used tubing and if I'm honest I do not like it. The last time I tried some it was one of the first tungsten impregnated ones and it used to snap and come apart quite regular before it found the bin
Just set my rods up with the ESP tungsten stuff, as tubing goes, tough stuff ( I put some pressure on it) and I was amazed at the weight, VERY heavy stuff, as for threading it, small diameter, absolute doddle, impressed, 10/10

I use "hugger" tubing by MCF.
Very, (very), supple and a decent weight to it.
As for threading, 15lb line is a doddle. 12lb and I struggle a bit, but eventually get there with a bit of cussing.

Buy a tubing or pole elastic threader. Better still buy 2 and have them inside lengths of tubing coiled up and ready to load. You can also use fine mono with a loop the same way, will go through easier at home when it's dry inside the tube

I stopped using any type of leader a few years ago as a couple of lakes I fish have a leader ban. I used tubing for a bit but found it a pain to thread and also it looked so glaringly obvious in the water
I don't bother with it at all now just use mono straight to the swivel, makes life so much more simple and as long as you are clipped up don't get any tangles

. . .best way I've found to thread tubing is to do it standing up and feed the line over your shoulder with one hand whilst holding the tubing in front of you (hanging vertically) with the other . . .don't know why but always seems to work. Using the rigmarole braided stuff and using this method is a doddle and takes seconds . . .

Put end of tubing between your knees and stretch the tubing while putting the mono in... really easy...

My syndicate banned the Rigmarole tubing with the metal inside on the basis it was the same as leadcore. I've used the ESP heavy tubing for years. No problem with it all but I now prefer Nash No Spook Tubing. Threads with no problems but I do put a couple of small blobs of putty on it to pin it down.

Not used the Rigmorole stuff. But as far as I'm aware isn't it basically a metal coil inner with a braid outter. Does it have a habit of kinking then?

If you are using tubing and struggle to thread it my tip is to mark the mono with a pen the length the tubing is.
It can be so frustrating not knowing how much left you have to thread ,often pulling it out to start again, when there maybe only a couple of inches to go.
I've found this to be as good as any other..

The bailiff in question is a known pain in the @rse with nothing better to do. He probably took a disliking to me as I caught two and he had blanked for 4 days!

So basically he only wanted to check your rig so he could see what he was doing wrong. No doubt he will be using the same set up next time he's down fishing

likes been said ignore the bailiff,you aren't breaking any rules..if you decide on going with tubing cut the mainline at an angle and thread it through dry tubing..or what I sometimes do is cut the tubing into equal lengths,at 2 3 or even 4 shorter lengths. it separates during the cast pinning the line down at different lengths along the mainline but slides back down the line when under tension.
