Is there anything safe from Carp Tax? £99.99 Korda Boots... considering a pair of Hi Tech or say, Columbia or Karrimor boots cost half that... I love the justification they give... designed to get on and off quickly - well all you do is loosen off the laces and any boot is easy to get on and off! Oh, according to Korda, most walking boots' laces come undone easily - really?! Can't say I have owned a pair of boots where that happened - maybe do them up properly? I wonder how waterproof they'll be? Hmmm... also, these are short boots, so at £100 a pop, are actually expensive and compete directly with boots from Merrell and Berghaus, both established brands I have boots in. The best bit of all? Korda saying their boots don't have a hefty price tag! You really couldn't make it up. Please, if you get tempted to buy these, just have a look on Amazon first, you'll save yourself lot of money and grief.

£100 for a pair of decent boots really ain't that bad infact that's cheap, My timberlands cost me £180 a pair so don't think that's very bad at all tbh that is only if they are as good as they say, I won't be buying them I prefer my north face boots

I used to use Brasher,found out they have very poor grip and split on the bit that bends when you walk..
Then I discovered North West territory boots less than £50,and comfy..
I don't buy much stuff these days with carp tax,as most of my kit is from walking,Bushcraft,military sources,apart from rods,etc..

One of the best design features i've seen on fishing footwear is the "fold and fix tongue" as found on Fox Footwear.
A simple idea that works really well and makes it easy to step in and get your shoes/boots on quickly.
It doesn't look like Korda have thought about that one.

Your comparing timberland and north face with Korda Had the Korda original one feet where soaking wet in them just walking through grass wore 3 times got rid cheaply made rubbish Why do people think it's good to buy these Korda boots when there are so many top names out there that are experienced in making outdoor foot ware when are people going to wake up and smell the coffee it's all a RIP OFF stop feeding them then the price will go down to what it should be

There's only one all round fishing 'boot' IMO - my first pair lasted almost 20yrs - now onto my second . . .durable, comfortable, properly waterproof, lightweight and mega breathable - my feet smell less after fishing than when wearing fashion trainers . . .these are German engineering for feet

Wish I had known about this sooner, I've just splashed out £3.99 for a pair of neoprene beach shoes from Lidl's yesterday. One of my top choices for bankside footware, warm, waterproof unless you go paddling and no laces to come undone and quick to slip on or off.
Similar to the green Sundridge bivvy shoes that used to be the rage but without the carp tax.

It's on the lip inside. If anyone has different sizes to share, please do as a size guide for these shoes is nowhere to be found on the internet.

11 months later, daily use (dog walks only 1-2 hours) but less in the summer months as it was dry and too warm, worn out on the heels, hollow soles and leaking as water is getting into the sole. There is still a profile on the heel. the cross in the centre of the heel opened up on both shoes.

Are Korda still making footwear?? Footwear is an absolute minefield for me. The amount I've had to return recently. Supposedly waterproof when there not. Soles wearing out over a mater of months with again supposedly high quality materials.
Not seen korda push any footwear recently so I assumed they stopped making them? The last ones I see were a Leather type walking boot. They also done a trainer high top style shoe as well.
Shoes don't like me... I'm just in the process of backing another pair.. they looked good, My feet weren't getting wet. It was to early on the wear side of things.. but the bloody things killed my ankle on my right foot.. I persevered for a while. But they didn't won't to show me no love back...

Have a look at Grisport, best boots I have owned. Comfy from day 1 and the current pair have lasted three years plus with daily dog walks in all sorts of weather. Also have a lighter pair for the summer.

I swear by Merrel MOAB but the Mrs sent me a link to some mid highs on offer, one look at the reviews put me off. People who've used the boots for years, serious walkers, all saying the same, leaked, fell apart etc, one person had theirs replaced 3 times until the original purchase warranty ran out.
Obviously materials aren't what they were due to environmental constraints (same for all boots) but it is making me a tad apprehensive, and I'm due a new pair soon!

To be fair I wear my Moabs 365, so they get far more use than weekend jaunts fishing 
Still swear by the shoes but haven't had any of the goretex ones or highs for a while now, just been using my Meindl walking boots, might get another pair of Goretex next year.
