Wonder what indicators people use. I can't find my old ones(Fox Slik bobbins) but to be honest I never really enjoyed using them. Also I won't use the Korda jobbies, personal reasons I don't use Korda, cheers.

I've used the Cygnet Clinga Indicators but over the past year or so been using the Fox Slik Bobbins which im happy with.

Gardner bugs, occasionally use the add on weights when fishing at range.
nano bugs with cut down cords for slack lines.
Handy as I can swap between the two without changing the attachments.

I use Mk2 safeliners. They do everything I need them to, I've always liked the look of the ESP barrel bobbins as well.

I have been using solar titanium range for years more for long range than anything and found them great for tight line fishing really allowed you to put some tension in the line but I found them too heavy for slack lines. I have since brought some safeliner mk2 and I think there a great bit of kit. Due to the line being fixed in place any indication is registered on the alarm. Something I overlooked for years using normal clips as such. Great for searching fish out in winter with semi slack lines I will continue to use them for everything but long range

Safeliners look a bit sexy. Like the look of them. Gardner bugs and Fox sliks, that type of design doesn't interest me. But £25 a pop + add ons. Wowser! £75 + for bobbins

Drilled bullet leads covered by flouro sea fishing muppets, Dacron as links, oval sea rig rings covered in silicon tubing as line clips...... best 90's danglers ever 😂

i had a machinist friend to mate me some from 316 stainless.
2 sets 1 set being 32gram and another set 20gram.
haven't used the 20gram set at all. look the mutts and cost me nothing.

The price reflects the fact that they are made in small volume production runs here in the UK. I hear these comments all the time about Jag and to some extent Defiant.
Bits of injection moulded plastic bashed out in a factory in China will always be cheaper. All of the components of the safeliner are produced in fairly small numbers, then they are hand assembled and packaged in the UK. To give you an example, I think I am correct in saying that it takes 15 minutes on the milling machine to make one lockdown. So add in assembly and packaging and your can see that a set of three is gonna be an hour of uk wages, uk factory overheads etc, and these machines cost hundreds of thousands to purchase and maintain and that's not including the rubber components that are also made in a small uk factory. All the hard anodising is also do in small uk factories. All these costs soon add up. It's why so much stuff is now made in China, but then we get thread after thread on here about quality issues, bivvys turning orange, luggage with crap stitching, bivvys you can't peg down cos the fronts too short etc etc.

Mps mag heads. They ate all i have used for as long as i can remember.
I've never heard anyone say that the Defiant gear is anything but decent value for money. In my opinion the Jag stuff is overpriced in comparison to the Defiant titanium, but I can see why people would prefer to be able to walk into a shop to buy it. It's good that the Jag stuff is available to the mainstream to have the choice of something decent.

The MPS defiant heads would be my choice. Although it appears that any bobbin does one/two jobs and you will need a second one in order to cater for all eventualities and there in lies the problem their isn't one indicator head that serves all scenarios else I'd have a set.
I have owned the full solar set up and now Delkim slim lites which are a compromise yet the red led is superb and the marginal to medium distance fishing is fine when looking ate alternatives you can't get a head that allows for slack lining as well as bow string tight distance work so you should have two sets or at least buy accordingly.

I had a set of stows and a set of safeliners and use them both for slack lining and distance fishing. If I use the largest weights I can use them at any range that I'm capable of casting to. I've never felt I needed two different heads.

Are you able to use either head with the solar titanium or Keith's scorpion/banshee type setup? I very much doubt the stows would manage it what about the safeliners? I doubt they would do it either, I'd be pleased and surprised if they did.
I've had two sets of indicators for near on 20 years for this very reason. I do like the look of the safeliner.

~ Julian; I personally use a set of Rotary Warlocks for ALL my fishing, be it Pike, Cat, Tench, Perch or Carp fishing. BUT if I was to fish one of the large windswept NW Reservoirs again, usually at long range, I would be using an Indicator Arm/Head to give me the very best chance of catching something (i.e., Scorpions)

I use solar titanium arms for all my fishing. Have muddy water/cygnet heads, with ipro clips, and swap between the normal and lite heads depending on where I'm fishing. I have the option of stows and hangers aswell but not yet found the need to put them on

The type of indicators in many proudly displayed set ups at the waters edges giveaway all too often a picture of the angler accompanying the items revealing that decoration is the main choice of order than the critical importance of correct valuable indication within what should be a balanced system carefully chosen upon the conditions presented at the time.

When I use singles, I have a different colour on each rod, when I use bars, they're all matching yellow or white. I am a tackle tart with OCD
