I currently have an old Trakker Waterproof Jacket and a pair of Berghaus Trousers but since losing a load of weight this year neither of them fit anymore.
Can anyone recommend a decent Jacket and Trousers, doesn't have to be fishing branded but don't want bright colours for obvious reasons.
I reckon I could spend up to £200 max on the pair.

Highlander tempest stuff is good, 5000hh waterproof and jacket is about £40 and trousers under £30

The Vass winter water proofs are superb. ~ £160. Very warm too if you're after for winter fishing.

I've been using the castle clothing fortex flex waterproofs jacket and trousers cracking buy for the money under £50 for the jacket and trousers eBay item number 111785360412 jacket , Trousers 111749528593 find them much better than fishing brand waterproof

The Trakker Summit XP range is very waterproof and breathable and probably the best i've used in that regard.
My only complaints are that the hood is too big in relation to the size/design of the jacket and the zips are crap, particularly the pocket zips which never run smoothly.
All just my opinion.

I think these are the same waterproofs my old refuelling company issued us with they were brilliant they were totally waterproof and breathable too
I spent many a 9 hour shift working in the rain and never got wet

Yep their great for the money gerry I first had one of the Hi Viz yellow jackets for work and was very happy with it so manage to find them in the green material aswell and took the plunge and bought them at a good price

I use a trakker summit xp jacket and some black berghaus trousers never had any problems at all and nice and light aswell, in the winter I just put either a thermal layer on under a tracksuit

I've been looking for a set of waterproof bib n brace for a while now. Fed up of cold knees. How do you get on with yours and how do they fit? I'm not a mountain of a man at 5'6. Are they insulated at all?

I have a set of Nash Scope trousers and jacket. I used them exclusively last autumn/ winter in all the rain we had and couldn't have been happier.

Why is it this now feels slightly awkward given the trend for 'Camo'

I'm about same height and go for a large. Plenty of movement as they stretch. They can feel cold on the inside with just joggers on so in the colder months I wear the army snugpak trousers under them and it's all good.
I've got the standard jacket but they do a padded one too but I've not tried one

Cant go wrong with E.S.P super grade
In general I think you're going to get a better product if you don't buy a fishing brand, most outdoor brands will do black or dark green etc so still work for fishing. Craghoppers had a big sale on recently so worth a look.
Personally I prefer an unlined jacket and trousers and then just vary the layers underneath depending on temperature, gives more options for using if just wet rather than wet and cold.
