What are your guys go to hookbait to avoid nuisance fish?
My current syndicate is plagued with bream up to 10lb+. I have been using snowmen which does avoid the bream well but I don't have a snowman rig that i'm currently super confident in, so im open to other options.

Depends on the bottom, if it's clear and I am confident a bottom bait will be presented well huge snowmen rigs (most carp can manage them. If it's not clear bottom then I would go with a big pop up on a stiff hinge and spread of boilies. Problems come for me in shallow water that's weedy , then it's struggle street

Nothing will stop them but a hinge will go some way to slowing them down.
Massive baits is an option but imo the bigger you go, the more you're hurting your chances of a carp.

What rig were/are you using for fishing snowmen? If it's working it seems odd to change.

and you just can't beat them, just have to hope the Carp move in and bully them off

i'm having the same problem on my current syndicate , but with tench not bream ! i have switched to boilie only approach and still hauling the buggers but from talking to a fair number of people they seem few and far between ! my last 6 bites have been tench , any suggestions ?

. . .only thing I would say if you are catching tench is that your rigs must be working and they are placed effectively . . .big tench can be finicky / harder to catch so perhaps a good sign rather than a bad one . . .keep the bait going in to get on the carp . . .

i know i should be taking confidence from it as the rigs and spots are working however when i'm currently on double figures whilst people who have been on there years haven't had a touch from one its just frustrating , granted if i was on a float rod id be over the moon with some off them. just cant work out why i'm getting plagued

Give the large black tigers from CC MOORE a go, they are steeped in liquid but bream and tench tend to shy away from them. An outstanding bait that is rarely used.

I use either double 18mm bottom baits or an 18mm bottom and a 15mm pop-up on a size 4 Gardner Mugga or Solar 101.
Rigwise I keep it simple, a knotless knotted braid combi link or coated braid hooklink with a line aligner.
I tie the pop-up on separately to the hair loop. A uni knot loop made with dental floss, or mono with the pop-up inside and then double granny or reef knot to the loop, with the ends cut and lighter tagged.
I avoid cereal groundbait, preferring to use just hemp and boilies. Groundbait like Vitalin, Pigeon conditioner and pellets are bream attractors, often before the carp get there.
I haven't had a single bream out of the reservoir doing that, yet others who use Vitalin and smaller baits have caught them.

You will usually pick Tench up in the margins and Bream at range.
ForTench and Bream to an extent, a very long hair for me.
Not sure if it's the weather or what but I am totally fed up with catching bream at the moment, they are of a decent stamp but a complete pain in the arse, going nuts
