Lockdown has spoiled me and I'm missing fresh, filter coffee on the bank... I've been looking at the Chub coffee maker. Any users or can anyone recommend me an alternative?

Aeropress. Had mine absolutely ages, use it daily and have only had to change the plunger seal once. Just bought the travel version to leave in with my tackle. In my view a solid buy if you like fresh coffee

I cant stand instant coffee so do what I did, buy coffee bags, much easier than messing about with even more kit, they taste great and take up no space.

The aeropress is by far the cheapest and most effective way to make real coffee. The device itself is actually a professional bit of kit and there are world championships to compete using it to make different tasting cups.
One thing you do need is decent coffee to go in it. Look at places like coffee compass and rave coffee (blended coffee as it's cheaper). Order pre ground coffee (you can even pick four it to be ground for the aeropress) and take it with you bankside.

You can get cheaper versions of the aeropress from ebay, i have 2 both work fine. One at home and one that lives in my rucksack. If i have enough milk, you can't beat a latte on the bank first thing!

I have read a lot of reviews and watch videos and basically it's a load of rubbish so don't waste your money no wonder they are now reduced to 11 quid. They are rubbish apparently

An update: Had an Aeropress for about 2 weeks now, feels longer, and it's been on bank with me '0' times... it lives in the kitchen; BEST INVENTION EVER.
Will shortly be ordering another for my food bag

I have an Aeropress - very good although it doesn't make a mug full - you have to add a bit of water (pernickety or what?).
I have an Espro which makes a mug full, is insulated so is great for the winter where the Aeropress cools too much. It doesn't use filter papers. Not as easy to clean as the Aeropress. Make great coffee though and you can drink it from the insulated press itself if you want.
I have a V60 dripper. Simplest way to make good coffee but not good in the cold.
I also have a small stainless cafetiere which now resides in the junk box.
The hardest choice is which coffee to brew (I usually have a couple on the go)

If you're really anal about your coffee the Porlex grinder fits neatly inside the main body of the Aeropress so you can grind your own beans on the bank

Finally went and bought a Stanley thermos. Now I just make a good brew at home and its still hot at least 40 hours later

Coffee is my life. From my experience, it is best to make your own. This is how you make sure you drink a good quality and fresh coffee.

Aeropress all day long. honestly nothing compares for coffee on the go. I subscribe to pact coffee too....they do some amazing coffee suited to the aeropress.

Some of us like a bit of sophistication, even when covered in slime, it's great to have a celebratory cuppa from a nice china cup as well. None of that milky tea stuff with the brown crap floating on the top, errgghh and definitely no metal mug for me
Another vote for the Aeropress. I keep one as a spare to use at home for when the BTC machine goes wrong along with a Lavazza milk frother/heater thing which is bloody marvelous, albeit a bit pricey.
Edit - those plastic cup/coffee filter things are OK as well, and convenient.

I'll be plumbing for the korda 2 mug set (when it gets released) or the fox set purely as they have proper mugs in the set. Looks like I'll be searching for a decent price on the aeropress too.😁👍

I prefer a moka pot but I got my aeropress from a local harris&hoole coffee shop, think it was £22 and I got a coffee free with it

It's probably worth paying the extra for the Porlex. It's generally the recommended grinder at the budget end of the scale, it's solidly built so will withstand a bit of abuse in the tackle bag. They're not the quickest but for me it does the job.
