What are your views with all luggage matching?
I am looking to upgrade quite a few bits including rod holdall, rod sleeves (spod & marker) , barrow bag, rucksack & brolly bag and like the look of the Fox Camolite stuff but just feel a bit of a wally with a full matching set.
Not sure whether I should swap a couple of items out for plain green just to look more 'Carpy'

I was just curious to peoples views. I like the Camolite stuff for quality but just wish it was all plain green - Not trying to look anything.

I don't care if mine is green camo flektarn black or even yellow with blue spots
If it serves me a purpose and fits the requirement then so be it.

I have everything that I need in the Camolite range and having it all matching has definitely put extra fish on the bank

Most of my luggage is fox camolite. Started off with the rucksack which is great for days/ travelling light. Got the 2 man cooler cos it fits all my cooking gear, food and some bait for a couple of days. Got the 2 plus 2 rod bag cos its compact and doesn't weigh a ton. I ended up with them mainly cos they suit my needs. I've found them to be well made. Sure, they look ok, but the matching bit is just a bit fortunate. Get what suits you and what you like.

Cheers mate. I knew I was leaving myself open posting this as the 'Old School' anglers would tell me to use an old army bergen and some elastic bands....and others would say things like 'it doesn't matter as the fish can't see what you are using'
I have the explorer barrow and love the quality of the bag (zips/stitching etc) so the matching set is an obvious choice.

When all the manufacturers just made green equipment you could buy the item that suited your needs from anyone.
The marketing men have now got got you sticking to one brand cos you like their camo.... even if the item is not exactly suitable.

Nothing of mine matches. I have an old SLAM (Sundridge)rucksack it's green but not what you'd call 'proper' fishing green and I do get some strange looks and the odd comment, it's something I have to put up with. Maybe some people haven't got the confidence to handle that?

And what's wrong with Argos click click sunlounger lol. with two covers with my one inch foam sandwich between them used in 1986 how an earth did I sleep on that and upgraded to my lafuma it was like a kings size bed in my army down bag it is nice to have everything matching

Buy what you want. If you like the Camolite get it. I have a range of stuff from different brands, Korum, Sonik, Cyprinus, Drennan, ESP, Fox and Trakker. It is all practical and does what I want it to do, looks never come into it for me but I know plenty of people who think very different in that aspect

I like the curent range of luggage from fox, its pretty well thought out, but like you say prefer a more subtle look but these days everything is dpm and camo etc, just go with the flow dude use whatever bits suit ya fishing, i use fox bits, voyager and camolite, some gardner stuff, cotswold aquarius and aqua at the moment although this re organising ive done over the lock down it will be a nightmare first day back fishing wont be able to find anything .
It is a bit sad that others choose to mock fishing luggage, Its custom thought out for the job, If you wanna stick everything in a matchbox and a 40 year old tupperware go for it, if you like to be organised or suffer OCD thats fine too . Im the same at work everything needs to have a place, and it needs to be in that place or i cant find it

All fishing luggage has to be totally functional to your particular needs that's why there are so many manufacturers out there....if the standard of quality is there and it fits your needs then spunk away.
The only companies luggage I've never owned any of is the Shimano range...It's like it's all been thought of by someone who's never been fishing in their life

Johnson ross have a few bits of fox luggage 25 % off at the moment in the voyager range so its not dpm

Just get luggage that serves the purpose to cover your fishing...
I have alot of the fox camo lite bags (smaller items) large green Nash hi loader barrow bag that they fit nicely into... Rod bags are either speero dpm or ccp padded sleeves for my other set of rods, a speero dpm carryall for longer or France trips... Esp cool bags and a few other bits
A mix up but as others have said get what you need to do the job for you...

Thanks for the reply mate, I have ordered the Ruckall and Tri sleeve from the voyager line. Slightly cheaper and green so not too much in your face and then some Camolite accessory pouches to go inside (Small, Medium & Large organisers, gadget pouch, brewkit bag & coolbag)
I think some people will just mock anything but I take it all with a pinch of salt as they most likley are just as bad. They will be typing their response about using a carrier bag and a sun lounger from a giant Nash Indulgance bedchair....sometimes I think it seems to be more trendy to fish like it was still the 80's.
I know the fish don't care what gear you have but I like to make sure I have half decent bits so I am not having to chop and change all the time. I still have some of my kit from 20 years ago and it works 100%. I work hard as a medic/trainer and don't drink or smoke so am fortunate to have a little spare each month, however it is certainly not massive amounts and all the tackle shops near me have closed down (We have a large AD about 30 miles away) so I like to find out other peoples views before buying bits. I was just thinking that an all camo set up might be all the trend now but soon fade out.

My onlycamo item is my shimano tribal camera bag.
I got that in camo because it dont matter if I cant find it.
I never need the camera anyway.

Dpm luggage is not a new trend. I remember people on here saying it was a phase that will fade away about 10 years ago but its probably more popular now than it has ever been so its not going away any time soon.

No two fishing bags match for me, i despise fishing luggage as every item of tackle you buy seems to be available with a corresponding bag, which when it boils down to it serves as nothing more than dead weight. I have an esp rucksack and a cyprinus satchel one used for carping one for river fishing, three rod bags, dont hate on me i won two from facebook competitions. A tiny drennan one a massive wychwood one that holds about 8 rods, and some funky one which is uber expensive and never likely to be used. 99% of tge time i dont use any of them. And i have three lead and bits bags, tfg one to hold all carp terminal tackle, a fox one for all river terminal tackle, and an nash one for all my floater fishing bits. Oh and a prologic bum bag thingy.
I dont bother with rod sleeves as they are just another thing to carry around.
