Has anyone got the chirp who previously owned the pro plus
Just wanted to see if it's worth paying extra money. From what I can see it's more detailed

Yep I have, I was disappointed as not a lot of difference.
I used to do fine with my pro+ don't really feel the chirp gives me much more.

So you don't think you get a better picture of soft/hard bottom, weeds etc?
I am in the same situation, got the Pro+, wondered if I should get the Chirp.

Still got my pro+ and bought the cirp last month.

I've upgraded to the chirp as well , I'll post when I get out some more details of performance etc.

I'm glad this thread has been made as I have never used a deeper before but I know the difference between chirp and normal sonar. Will save me a bit of money
Pleased I read this post was thinking about upgrading but from what I've read I needn't bother
I believe the Chirp will give you a better bathometric map over the Pro + and starts at a foot depth whereas the Pro + starts around 3 feet

From seeing them side by side the chirp gives a more detailed and accurate pic of the bottom, whether that is enough for people to swap I'm not sure.

Cant Comment on the Pro Plus but did get the Deeper Chirp not long after it came out and used it for a French trip last year.
I have used a Lowrance Chirp 4 which was built into my RT4, the Deeper was virtually the same and IMO it's very good.
This is a image I posted on the forum last year when testing the Deeper Chirp, unfortunately on a silty Cheshire Mere so not the most detail!

That does look good and I also have a pro+.
I have seen comments that the GPS is better on the CHIRP - Does anyone else have issues with the GPS on the Pro+ and perhaps managed to fix them?

They sent anyone who registered their device with them last year an email saying if you had persistent connection issue with Apple devices to return the device Deeper pro + or chirp for a replacement as there was know issue with older devices.

The box mine came in had been opened as had my friends, it says if the seals broken to return it. I queried it with the shop and they told me they had been testing each one they sold due to a known issue at the time with quite a few units, hopefully thats now all sorted, similar to Shadows exp.

Had my chirp replaced GPS connects quicker now and doesn't loose connection as much as the previous model that was 6 months old at the time.

has anyone been able to test the new chirp and have more feedback like below - great thread as have the pro plus and was looking to updade. I do like the fact it starts at 1 foot instead of 3 foot like the pro plus.

Just got the Chirp and been testing it out but when mapping and looking afterwards why does it show some images in the lake not up to the waters edge where I am standing and some on land ?
Am I doing something wrong ?

It because the map data base in the deeper software is not as accurate or up to date as it should be. Depends when and where they took. the data for the map from .
Has happened to me a few times.
