Looking at a power bank, are the ridge monkey or atom worth the extra money heard good things about the anker ones.

I have two anker power banks. Both about the size of a pack of cards. I can get 7 charges of my phone from 1 power bank. Normally only take one with me. 100% recommended

Ravpower , Anker or EC Technology . All 26800mah so i suspect all come out of the same factory .. I've got a Ravpower and an EC Tech , never let me down and keeps my phone and tablet fully charged on a 3/4 day session.

Personally I would make sure that it had FAST CHARGE tech for your phone and I would go for 26800 size I have 2 both EC Technology one is the 26800mAh and the other the earlier 22400mAh model
I have recommended these to lots of my metal detecting friends that use them to charge their metal detectors up on weekends and lots of fishing mates have them if you check on Amazon you will see reviews from actual users

I did have one mate that rang me and said is not fast charging his phone ?
it turned out he wasnt using his phones lead but the recharging lead that came with the charger once he used his actual phone charging lead it fast charged

Gibbalicious, if you're doing 48 hours and you're only using a bivvy light, torch, and phone and you make sure you've charged them before you left home look at the Imuto Taurus X4 Smart Power. It would keep you going even if you had to recharge all 3 devices on the bank. It's the size of an iPhone 6 just twice as thick. You can get the 20000mAh version for £20 and you can charge two devices at once.

I'll take a look at them all. I don't always trust the reviews on amazon, do you really know who could be writing them. Would always rather ask around than trust a yank website 😬

The fast charge on the anker 1 would deffinetly be enough to keep me going? My phones pretty good for charge I generally get about 30hours or so out of it as it gets put to one side soon as the bivvy goes up. If I had the charge option though I may bring my ipad for them freezing cold winter sessions.

the 26800mAh keeps my Galaxy S7 and tablet charged for 3 nights fishing and still has power left my bivvy light has never needed charging in a weeks fishing

the blurb says
will charge iPhone 8 around 7 times, iphone8 Plus 5 times, iphonex 5 times).

I would get at least 5 charges for an iphone out of the Imuto. Again, of you're doing 48 hrs you'll be fine with an iPad, bivvy light etc.

Sorry to hijack the thread any ideas for a reasonably price power bank for charging a Microsoft surface ? The power bank uses a USB type c connecter to output to the Microsoft surface connector.

Have a Google but I suspect you'd need a power drive compatible one, anker do some at decent prices, it's slightly different to a normal battery pack and can deliver higher voltages
I had to buy one for a new camera recently, seems a lot of devices are adopting this protocol

Another for the Anker Power Banks, really good bits of kit, i paid £45 for 2 from Amazon which gives me just over 40000Mah. One of these charges my iPhone 5 times or my iPad nearly 3 times.

I did look at the Ridgemonkey ones but they are way over priced for what they are and compared to others on the market

I've just bought a Rav Power 20000mah 60w power Bank from Amazon for £37. It charges my Lenovo x280 laptop via the USB-C. I know it's not the biggest capacity but I just needed it to keep my laptop topped up while working from the bank.
Glad I didn't spend ridge monkey prices to achieve what I needed

Note it doesn't come with a USB charging lead only a USB-C to USB-C lead, fortunately I had a compatible charging lead at home so that I could charge from standard iPad wall charger

A lot of them won't charge bigger laptops I think you need something a bit more specialised than your average power bank.

Depends if your laptop has USB-C power delivery capability, not the size of it. More age related to be honest. If you have an older laptop then you're looking for a power bank with a standard plug socket or 12v car socket - likely to be more expensive.
However USB-C can handle a lot more power (I think 100w) compared to standard USB and is therefore capable of charging newer laptops.
My Lenovo is a traditional laptop with a reasonable spec i7, 16gb, SSD and It charges from my £37 power bank because it has USB-C PD @ 60w.

I've just got an EC technologies one after recommendations on here ( cheers oldgeezer ) £19 off amazon . just got back from a trip , ipone 6s charged up 3 times and hasn't dropped any voltage at all... impressed and no carp tax

with power banks' it's best to work out what you need to charge or operate, and for how long' and what power output.
the anker offerings are good for phone, tablet etc for a couple of days. for long periods of bank time, and running laptops etc' Tracer, ridgemonkey or atom are a good choice' at more cost. i recently bought the big atom, i'm very impressed with it but' will be overkill for some.

Only for phone charging mainly but, needs to get at least 4-6 charges of smart phone

Not looking to spend too much

Anker all the way. Very reliable and easily 5-6 charges if not more with the larger one.

I've recently bought a new one from Amazon. It's a Charmast 23,800mAh with USB-C and Power Delivery (I use a Pixel which only fast charges via PD).

Been out twice with it and it seems great so far. It's looking like I should get 4/5 charges out of it before needing to re-charge. Plus it was a decent price (can be picked up for ~£20).

Anker is a monster, a friend highly recomended it and i must agree the 20000 is plenty powerful and very well made.
I am actually thinking about buying the Anker powerhouse u can charge a house with it.

Used Anker for years, but recently just brought a 20,000 ravpower with lcd screen and have to say it's fantastic.

I travel a lot with work and it's saved me a few times, has usb a/c out and usb a/c and lighting in. So have great versatility

Just had 2 satechi power banks wireless charge as well as normal but also have the usual usb port and also the usc? Port as well for iPhones,fast charger £104 each and the recharge pretty quickly and charge an iPhone twice.

Iv used anker for years and think they are fantastic power banks which don't let you down .

I did want a bigger one for week sessions and just bought the outlaw power bank . I can't remember the exact details but I think it was the same power as the big ridge monkey for half the price . So far so good

Ive got a trip booked next week and just found out I might need to work. Need to run a laptop for 2 days. Havnt got a clue about power banks what would you recommend don't mind what it costs

I got a bluetti eb3a 268WH

It would charge a normal laptop (60w) about 3 to 4 times, else the next model up is twice the capacity and price. I needed this for the same thing, working this week from a lake in France, butt my laptop takes a power brick charge from mains. However, have also charged bait boat batteries for a friend and solar charging it.

If your laptop has usb charging you'll likely get much more options for less money.

Anker products have a lot of pedigree for working with chargers/battery packs etc. they research and produce a lot of very safe products.
Alternatively you could buy a no name / chinese rip off type charger which could possibly be made in the same factory to the same spec.
Personally i would buy an anker one, as i feel the extra expense is in a genuine product with electrical safety built in. Im always wary of buying cheap when you plug something in at home and leave it charging.

Went with the powapac atom pro in end. Need it for Tuesday so couldn't risk somthing not turning up on time on a bank holiday weekend

Tried it briefly, it powered my laptop from dead to 50% and only used 17% of the powapac so hoping basis that it should see me through

Any recommendations for a decent power pack? Looking at a atom power pac or the fox 96k version, 20,000mah isn't enough and doesn't justify the price on the anker ones,

I already have a 35,000mah and with the power consumption on the newer phones you only get 2 charges out of my mates anker pack on a iPhone 14 pro max, I'll be getting the 15 pro max next week so need a decent one to last me seeing I take a iPad Pro aswell

I picked up an Ecoflow River 2 and it's been good. Might be a bit big for you, but I need to charge a laptop for work, along with several smaller items and it's been perfect. It only takes an hour to charge fully from flat which is mightily impressive, it'll charge from the mains or the car, etc.

Buy fishing tackle from a fishing tackle company, and battery packs from a battery pack company. Less chance of being disappointed that way!

The outlaw pro one ran my shower and charged my phone ( 12 pro max) for 5 days at Glastonbury and still came back with half a charge or so

I can second this, I've literally come back from a 72hr session charged my phone, head torch and topped up my tablet battery and still has somewhere between 75 and 100% battery as all 4 lights are still showing still, down to 130 quid at the minute, I took a punt as said bellow fishing company's for fishing gear and electrical equipment from known or reputable suppliers, I've only used it once so longevity time will tell, however so far impressed with it after one use.

I'm using this power pack also . No issues with running out of power . My only one gripe is I think the lights that indicate the power could have been clearer . It's hard to tell exactly how much power you have left .

I prefer having multiple smaller windows packs. I've got one big one for week sessions etc but yeah prefer using smaller ones. Only going for the night take 1 going for a weekend take 2/3 etc etc

I've just bought an Anker power supply and I think it's amazing took it with me last week along with my other power banks really impressed with it plus I got £90 knocked off original price too
