Anyone know what's going on with the above? Becoming harder and harder to track down. Got hold of some squid addarome but not the same at all.

Nash still do the Squid EEE's but you have to go to them direct - I was quoted £44.00 but they didn't specific for how much!

I use Essential Squidstim in its place

Good shout Bristol. My mate knows Gary but he's keeping his squid powder to himself! for £44 direct I'd want a kilo. Is the Squidstim similar to nashy's one? If it's just addarome then I'll pass as I have some of that.

I dealt with Max Hendry via email mate - I was quoted litre prices for a lot of their old favours so I would imagine it is for a kg of powdered additive.

From memory the Squidstim isn't the same as the Nashy stuff, its certainly pokey and works a treat in my Solar S&O/ John Baker Plum hookbaits!

Cheers for the info. If I can get a kilo for that price I might go for it. It was £22 a tub for 200g when I last bought some. A very effective additive when coupled with the red liver and scopex. Have sourced the flavours from Catchit Labs but the powder is proving more difficult. I'll try emailing them.

According to Bayes interview on the Carp Cast - the company doesn't make it anymore so Bayes bought the 'recipe' for the squid powder to make it in house.

I wish I'd pursued it now - let me know how you get on if you do follow it up.

I use Catchit for some of my other flavours...a couple in particular are VERY good

I hope the red liver and scopex are very good. I had a small sample of scopex before but difficult to tell with a 5mil bottle if it's any good. Got 50mil coming to test it properly. Typical that it's now tricky to get squid powder.

Does this not suit requirements?

https://www.bacarelexpress.co.uk/products/0278_squid_powder.php

0278 squid powder is made using the tentacles and tails as opposed to the mantle, which although is used for the majority of seafood production, is more prone to autolysis, leading to higher levels of free amino acids and shorter peptides, notably the protein myosin. In production of 0278 Squid power, raw materials undergo processing in a manner that preserves the nutritional qualities and sensory characteristics of squid. These include the flavour, smell and protein content, whilst providing an extended shelf life of 15 months' post production and re-assured food safety when kept in cool and dry conditions. Full product specification is available including amino acid profiles.

Think that's addarome. Good quality no doubt as all Baracell stuff is but the Nash one is unique. As I understand it there's no actual squid in it, it's a synthetic product made from organic acids on a talin base. Managed to source the last 8 pots Johnson Ross had so I'm sorted for a little while.

That's definitely not addarome squid, which is another synthetic product based on talin. No squid in it at all.

Thanks Christian. A natural product then. It's confusing as there are so many "squid" type products out there. Got some addarome the other day but I have no confidence in it. No smell to it, just a white odourless powder. How can that be squid?

What's the stuff that feedstim have, Addarome?
Edit: it's described as addarome, squid flavour and aroma.

I have bought addaromme that has hardly any smell, but also had some that did smell, possibly it has a poor shelf life. Personally I am presently unconvinced it makes a difference to catch rates. The manufacturer recommended inclusion rates are very low, one gram per kilo, but most retailers suggest much more, its obviously a strong product getting the level right might be important.

Nutrabaits n-butyric acid smells very similar to EEE squid. Same cheesy sour rancid smell so I'm sure it contains at least some NBA. Got three original tubs of EEE powder left, so could make a direct comparison.

Got 6 50g pots left. When it's gone it's gone. Nash denying it but they won't be selling it any more. Keeping existing stock for themselves to use in scopex squid probably.

He fobbed me off by saying it's available at any well stocked Nash stockist. There's no Nash stockist in a 50 mile radius and Iv'e taken all of Johnson Ross's so I guess that's that then.

Hi Boycie. That's the original version they used to sell in 200g pots. Not done that for about 5 years so the stock is well old.

Sold as chitin, animal feed
Maybe the fishing stuff is the meat , but maybe not? 🤭
Dosnt mean it's not effective though

Have a look at the Bacarel stuff, made from the flesh, purple in colour, au natural so you could probably load it up to the nuts, not used it myself but i am sure it will be top drawer as all their products are

As mentioned below, as you hear all the rumours, I once heard the Nash stuff had a cheese powder in it, who knows. One thing for sure, due to its really extreme potency I would not have thought it was not just a natural squid product, unless it is mega, mega concentrated during the manufacturing process, happy to be wrong?

Used a bit myself over the years, they also did the liquid version, black stinking stuff, not as good as the powder for me

Guess that's an interesting question for Jason Ryder

The Bacarel stuff will be top drawer, some of their liquids are awesome (and being sold under various guises now...)

The original Nash stuff was to my nose/ eye very different to addarome. As someone said I head it was more of a cheese based product but it bloody worked!

To this day the original S mix was one of the best baits I've used

S MIX (Squid) - 3 fishmeals, 3 birdfoods, a secret high protein source, a cereal mix specially developed to work in conjunction with high protein products to promote natural weight gain and good health, Squid Essential extract, salt and powder palatants make this mix totally unique to Nash Bait. S Mix Squid is the result of the most comprehensive research relating to carp nutrition in a natural environment and has proven over 20 years that it's spot on. Tank tests and information relating to farmed fish have only limited use in the carp bait arena where the carp can also feed on naturals and other angler's baits. There isn't any chance of ever putting together an exact available nutrition list as all waters vary but the S Mix Squid is accurately put together to not only emulate but to improve on all other nutrition available to the carp in its environment. This is why the Squid is effective in easy over stocked waters, medium difficult waters, hard waters and even totally virgin waters which haven't even seen boilies. Over the 20 plus years that the S Mix Squid has been in production, hundreds of different recipes have been used with this base mix. If you have what you think is a good attractor then the S Mix Squid is the base mix that will definitely work with it. S Mix Squid is the base mix for the famous Scopex Squid and Scopex Squid Red.

Best recipes per 4 egg mix. Add base mix gradually to suit:

3ml Scopex No 1, 5ml Red Liver oil Palatant and 1ml Intense sweetener. This is the original Scopex Squid recipe that has been catching carp from the hardest UK waters for nearly 2 decades. When fished alongside other baits it has consistently caught a higher average weight of carp, truly a big fish catcher.
10ml Amino liver Concentrate, 5ml Mature Lobster Oil Palatant, 3ml Peach Melba, 3ml Lobster Thermadore and 1ml Intense Sweetener. This bait has been used to great effect on some of the countries circuit waters, originally on Coate park (the Coate mix), Elstow, The Cons etc.
4ml Tangerine oil and 1ml Intense sweetener. Although this recipe seems so simple it has caught thousands of carp and is an awesome late season recipe.

Sounds good doesn't it, I didn't know all that about it. Lee Jackson just chucked an unmarked bag of bait at me and said use this. I wasn't going to argue was I .He wasn't wrong.

Would love to know if the Scopex Squid they sell now is the same as the stuff when it came out. Doesn't smell as ‘squiddy' to me but I've got much older and smoked many fags since then!
