Did anyone have a good look at one of these at the show and if so what are your thoughts, I mainly fish short sessions and have been thinking about getting the brolly for a while but it's trying to get a look at one in the flesh in the southwest.
Don't want to just order one because of the negative comments on here about it being on the low side but liked the idea of the vents on the new advanced.

It's essentially an aquatexx v2 brolly with vents all round, they looked identical size wise.
I bought the brolly, but it does look cheap compared to the advanced.

I did , seemed very low. I'd be worried about the 4 vents as well , trakkers previous record for quality for just 2 vents isn't great

Not sure if there is a height difference between the advanced and the V1 brolly, I am 6.2” and using a ‘bedchair buddy' am able to fish comfortably on short/overnight sessions without the old bald head scraping the underside of the top. Having said that best to satisfy yourself by looking at one in the flesh (hopefully with a bedchair under it).

What surprised me is its 12.6kg with everything opposed to the full bivvy which is 10.5kg.
I ordered one for 460 with skull cap but when I found that out I just went for the full bivvy as 2 vents is plenty for me

That's a lot of weight for something that is smaller than the bivvy, but a good price with the scull cap included.

I had a good look at it at the show and yes it looks very low. I'm 6'3 and was supprised at the head room i had while sat inside, although the door is quite low when getting out. The vent mesh looks to be better quality aswell.
Still not convinced on getting rid of my fast and light for one but will wait until the are some tried and tested reviews.

I thought I'd get one as I wanted rear vents for summer so sold my v2 brolly and was looking yesterday and thought I might as well get the bivvy as little bit more space and plenty of head room. I got my brolly advanced today. Did my homework on them before and glad I got it.

I literally just bought a TB last week - not the Advanced, not the 100T, not the bloody vents and skull caps and god knows what else. Just the bog standard TB - because it's the lightest version.
The vents make zero sense to me. Why would I want to add weight just to have big holes in my brolly? I don't spend hardly any time in it, I just sleep under it and shelter from rain. The vents offer me zero benefit. I am not one of these guys that spends their day cooped up under a shelter watching an ipad.
BUT - I can completely understand that others do spend time sitting under it, which is fine. The vents make perfect sense to those guys. They add comfort value.
We all have different priorities and the choice is there for all of us. Best for me isn't best for the next man. To say the version you like "outshines" the version that suits others is just ignorant imo. Better or worse depends completely on the priorities of the angler/user.

There are a few worrying reviews on Facebook with regards the material of these Tempest - water seems to be soaking in and not repelling .... People are having to Fabsil from new 
... I personally think the Tempest Brolly is the best of the lot ... Rest of the range seems overkill/over engineered to me with no gain over a 2 rib peaked pramhood.

IMHO Aquatexx is highly overated and I have had a fair few bivvies made of the stuff.
Takes an age to dry and is rather heavy. Also needs to be reproofed quite regularly if used a lot to keep its beading properties.
Had a V1 tempest with nylon for the last five years. and it's done its job wonderfully. Never had to reproof it and it's had some foul British weather thrown at it.

.... and not really necessary for the average angler ... especially if using a wrap/skull cap. Though i still love my early Aqua MK2 Armo (thick Aquatexx) and would never part with it, i rarely use it nowadays, preferring my nylon Cayman and nylon Tempest brolly .... both been excellent

My V2 Air wrap fits my Advanced, must admit had no issues with either and only reason I bought the Advanced for was to keep the dog in

My Tempest brolly advanced 100 was delivered yesterday. I was shocked how bulky and heavy it was compared to my old Mk1 brolly. Got rid of it already and bought a Brolly V2 instead as the nylon is much lighter. Jusy need to send it off to Army Andy for 2 rear vents now.

You won't be disappointed mate. My V1 has been brilliant apart from the low height.
I have had it for about five years now and it's seen some serious weather on big wind swept pits.
Its on its last legs now but I am hanging on to it till it dies on me. I'm tight like that LOL.
I will probably replace with either a hide XL or 100 T.

My v2 brolly was waterproof and certainly did not suffer with that problem.Its probably just condensation on the inside because had door closed well its pissed down for hours

I had a supa mk2 before so my expectations are low. Although lots of condensation, never seemed to drip on me. At least with v2 you have overwrap and skullcap that should help.

Tbh I only bought the Air and then the TB for a specific water I'm fishing. A very open reservoir on which those big winds we had recently were just too much for my poor little Lo Pro. It just about survived, but its not the one on this water. The Air was nice but weighed a ton compared to the Lo Pro. The TB is spot on for it. Strong but light.
I'll still use the Lo Pro elsewhere but the TB is absolutely perfect for this res.

I recently bought the Advanced 100 bivvy after having owned the V1 brolly for a while. Fancied something a bit bigger with a front on. First impressions I was surprised how heavy it was compared to the brolly and debated taking it back straight away. In the end I decided to give it a chance though so will see how I get on!
Well iv orderd my advanced brolly this morning, hope I won't be disappointed?.

I'm totally happy with my Brolly V2, changed over after 16(!) years using the Fox Evolution.
It suits my fishing style perfect, most of the time doing short overnighters.
Enough headroom, lightweight and no need for back vents.
There is one thing that strikes me:
The Brolly Advanced is around 480 pound.
The 100 Advanced is 699, the 150 Advanced is 799.
Why is there such a big price difference?
Of course the 100 and 150 are bigger, but the price gap is even bigger.
Compared to the Armo V4 series the Tempest Advanced are expensive.(Armo v4 1 man 419, 2 man 449 and 2 Plus 515 pound)
I understand that maybe with the block mechanisme etc, production could mor expensive.
But both use Aquatex.
So the bigger Tempest Advanced Models are really expensive.
And the prices in Holland are even higher for the Advanced Models, ,more than 50 euro
The price for the TB en TB100 are at AD the same as at mij local Dutch shop.
Marketing?

yonny, did you notice that much difference between the Air and the TB? According to Trakker the Air 2 is 6kgs without pegs and groundsheet and the TB v2 is 5kgs. I appreicate 1kg is still a lot of titanium pent pegs! Just wondering if I'm missing a trick here.

It was the v1 I had mate and yes it felt like a big difference. Admittedly I had the ground sheet in the bag which wouldnt have helped lol.

Recieved my advanced brolly for yesterday, I must say im well impressed with it
Bought one but had to sell it as way to small / low for my indulgence bed. My head was against ceiling and im only 5ft8. With door zipped in I couldn't watch water unless laying down. Shame as imo quality bit of kit.

Ive just stumbled across this post post. My last fish post on brooms cross was over 2 years ago and 90% of the fish pics from there are 20-35lb Mark, you either need glasses mate or need to catch a few fish yourself to familiarise yourself with fish sizes.
