I had an insurance problem late last year. My GP said I should have an ECG for precautionary reasons.
I was going away and already had travel insurance with the Post Office for a trip to Egypt, so I told them I was going to have an ECG which was scheduled for after the holiday.
To my surprise they told me that they can no longer insure me, I thought that was the reason for taking out insurance before you go!
The best they could do was refund most (but not all) of the money I paid them.
So much for Martin Lewis saying ASAB (buy insurance as soon as you book)

Anyway, I ended up making a call to insureandgo and paying them over the phone, although they said I wouldn't be insured for anything related to the ECG.

As it turned out, as expected my ECG was perfectly normal, it was just my GP being over cautious.
