In reply to Post #3 According to the ESP website, they only now do ;
12' 3.25tc - 50mm
12' 3.50tc - 50mm
They definitely used to do 12'9'' 3.25tc & 12' 3.00tc with 40mm butts.
Which seems a bit odd given that Mr. Hearn himself, being more than a little old school, only seemed to use the 12'9'' 3.25tc with 40mm rings.
Must have just decided to cater for the fashionista's instead π

In reply to Post #1 I donβt think they do.
Google AI lists this:
βThe ring sizing for the standard 12ft factory-built models is explicitly tied to the test curve:
12ft Classic 3.00lb TC: Equipped with a 40mm butt ring.
12ft Classic 3.25lb TC: Equipped strictly with a 50mm butt ring.
12ft Distance 3.50lb TC: Equipped strictly with a 50mm butt ring.β
I think the older 12β 9β versions in 3.25lb TC had a 40mm butt ring.

In reply to Post #1 Pretty sure they don't in the 3.25. there's a video on YouTube with him explaining what rods are what.

Did they ever make the mk3 12ft 3.25lb verison with a 40mm ringset?
The fact that I can't find the answer to this via Google likely tells me that they didnt; would love to be proved otherwise!
cheers π
