The lake sounds so shallow all over, I don’t think it’ll make much difference tbh. If in doubt, go for the swims with features.

As Scozza says, find some spots and bait them heavily. The fish will soon come. Just give it a couple of days for them to start producing. Plenty of gluggie stuff as well.

If there's plenty of fish in it i wouldn't worry so much. If its low stock and a hard one then location will be everything.

7-9 foot is not deep in reality considering the variations you mention. Fishing the arms could be hit and miss, either there or not as you mention. I would try and speak to the bailiff and understand the fish movements before you go. I've just come back from a trip and i moved twice, started on the shallows, caught and moved to the deepest area and caught.

If your camping for the week and they respond to bait i would find some spots and just fill it in the first night and move on from there. No bites, hold back, catching, top it up. Sometimes the more open water the more chance you have of getting something over it for me. Fish spotting is everything for me though, if i cant see them then its shelves, drop offs and spots etc.

I know it's an absolute lottery based on the weather, but! If it's how it usually is, pretty warm but starting to cool a little, what would your choice be?
Fishing a 60+ acre lake and currently booked onto the deep part / bowl of the lake ( 7-9 foot ) but it's featurless and really not my usual style of fishing.
However I know the swim usually produces some fish consistently throughout the year.

Alternatively I have the option to fish one of the arms, much nice place to fish, pads, snags etc but it's shallow around 3-5 foot in most places and history tells me the fish are there or not there and cannot move swims in the week.
( I know this as we fished the other arm last year in March, the day we turned up the temp dropped over 10 degrees and the fish which were held up there in huge numbers all disappeared into the deep water for the whole week)

But.. Generally.. Mid September.. Where would you fish? Where would the fish be more likely to spend thier time?
