Since mid 70's I have just rubbed a candle up and down zips to keep them in good order especially if they are sticking etc. I always have one in my tackle bag oddly enough.
if you use a "Wet Lube" etc to protect the zip, it will just attract dust and dirt etc and clog the zip up making things worse.

its worth putting beeswax or a dedicated zipper cleaner on them. I use zip slip from B&Q its around £10 and keeps the zips in better condition than new

I live by the coast and this has happened to my aqua and avid bag zips..
Just needed a good clean to get them back to how they should be

I have a daiwa rucksack that had a similar thing although I think I put it away damp. A healthy smear of silicone grease sorted things out.

As anyone had a barrow bag zips corroded off is it a known problem. I've had a Presteige barrow food bag a few years now but I've never seen the zips turn green and corrode before on any bag surely they can't be age limited anyone else experienced this
