Just thinking aloud,

Unless using the wrong knot and 0.5mm is breaking well under its breaking strain, when would you ever exert the sort of strength to break 0.5mm mono using a rod and reel for Carp fishing ?

Does that mono have better abrasion resistance, strength isn't the same? EDIT, re read, I saw you said it was better

@ scozza, if it ain't broke for me why fix

Edit, Daiwa Saltiga maybe ?

Must be just you and me that think amnesia is ***** and the rest of the world rave about it

Lot better options out there now, flurocarbons etc

Thanks, do you have a link? If I google Team Daiwa Sal****er Mono it just comes back with Sensor.

Team Daiwa Sal****er mono for exemple. You can break a 0,50mm Amnesia with 2 knot pullers but not with the TDS... incredibly strong... 9.10kg vs 20.2kg you can step down to 0,40mm TDS at 13.2kg

I used amnesia a lot until I tried salwater mono... knot strenght and abrasion resistance is far better on new generation mono

Pretty sure 15lb is 0.40 so will be fine. It has good abrasion resistance.

+1, don't see any reason to change. I did dabble with others but always came back to amnesia.
