Spiders do like getting inside steve neville speakers.
I used to give my speaker/s a occasional quick wipe around inside with a cotton bud that had a quick spray on it of WD-40 on it.

Even If left to dry water could have seeped in around

The speaker grill
Seals around buttons
Battery compartment

And there may still be some moisture.

So you’ve tried new batteries, I would continue to leave it to dry and clean around the speaker area.

If after another day or 2 it’s either water damage to the speaker or the PCB.

Should have stuck with delks 😀

anyone had a problem with their speaker on their neville alarms, used it a couple of weeks ago and wiped it down as it rained for 12 hours, used it yesterday and the sound was muffled and working intermittently.....the sound was coming through the reciever fine.

ive changed the battery, put it on the radiator to dry but no joy, its still working through the reciever fine though.
