I am so impressed with my Okuma Obsidians. Unbelievable value for money.

In reply to Post #6 Free Spirit CFX or Tackle Box CTX are great rods in that price bracket. Often a multi buy deal around also.

Thanks for the replies, will have a look at the Obsidians for sure! I have inceptions on my scopes. What about 12ft rods around the same budget? Any recommendations?

In reply to Post #1 Recently got some okuma obsidian reels - I am so impressed with them. Honestly don’t think you’ll be disappointed and less than £150 per reel. Spod reels are due out end of March I believe and I’ll be getting 2 of them as well.

In reply to Post #1 You can get the Daiwa Crosscast 45 for £109 which is a great real for the money, matching spod reel if that floats your boat also. Had mine 5 years now and really like them.

In reply to Post #2 I've got an Okuma on my spare rod and definitely a good reel for the money!

In reply to Post #1 New or used?
Used I'd go Daiwa - Tournie 5000T and their og Spod Reel(s). Heavier and a little retro now but you'll be able sleep at night knowing they'll never let you down . . .
New probs Okuma 8k and spend the change on whatever spod reels you fancy

Hi all, looking for a set of 3 reels and also 2 spod/marker reels. Looking at a budget of probably £150 per reel approx. What’s best for the money please?
