The original film says best fished drop off style, they even supply the allen key fitting so you can remove the chains for cutting

Just spoke to then at the show, and they say and show the chan much longer than the top of alarm and are only to release on picking up the rod! But as advice below I think I will shorten the chains to about an inch so they release

Easily solved, have your line slack through the rings but pull the line tight from reel to the safeliner. If you have reels on a tight drag the safeliner will then sit nicely

I ditched mine - they're made beautifully and look great but fishing slacks I didn't like the way they twisted against the chain (even with the length set up correctly) . . .seriously affected my OCD and therefore ability to catch lol . . .

Shorten the chain section - you want it a bit tighter so that the line pops out when the bobbin lifts to the top of alarm/rod. I don't understand why this would have happened all of a sudden cant imagine the chains would have stretched

I had a similar issue when i first started using them, then actually set them up as per instructions and no issue since.

After using these for my winter fishing over the last few years without problem, the last few sessions I have had something happen that I’ve never noticed before and I’m not actually sure if it’s an advantage or problem!

I reckon 4 of my last 6 takes the safeliner sort of jams in the buzzer and the tip knocks with very little alarm action. As I only fish days that’s fine, it also stops the panic of a full bloodied run and I hint probably aids with hooking. Not what I would want this at night.

So a quick question for users - am I setting them up differently to previous (maybe cold hands jamming them too much) are the takes just a bit more sneaky or has it always been this way and I have never really noticed before? I use with rxs with sensitivity about half way.
