Thanks everyong, I found an online store called Hollister that had a sale on their jumpers, worked out at twenty quid each.

They arrived the other day and for the price can't grumble 60% cotton so quite a nice feel to them too.

Not quite the Gansey I am looking for, but decent quality for that price and as I'm still trimming down, it means I haven't wasted a ton on something that might be well too big by next winter.

👌

The new Fox collection sherpa zip up hoody/jacket is fantastic! matching trousers are great too, both warm and comfortable!!

Although not wool (which I would have preferred although, arguably, not as hard wearing) I absolutely love Wofte's knitwear. I have two of their cardigans (an attempt to look like and catch like the GOAT Mr Hearn. It doesn't work BTW!) and their knitwear hoodie. Highly recommended.

One thing I will add though is that none of my jumpers are as warm to wear as the korda thermal jacket I have. If the weather is really cold then I nearly always wear a lond sleeve zip neck merino wool base layer anyway.

If someone had worn a jumper in for me already, I'd be delighted 👌

Only expensive if you don't get the use out of it though, I've got lots of jumpers from cheap weird fish to Gansey and many in between from Barbour and Rohan. Some of mine are probably near on twenty years old same as some of my shoes but like I say if you get the use out of them they're not expensive in the long term. No good of course if your the type of person that has to have new stuff all the time.

I've got a Heritage jumper and I love it. Bought a large which is huge on me so sizing is on the generous side

Gansey.... that's a name I've not heard in a while. That's what me old man used to call Jumpers. He was from the west coast of Ireland not to far from the Aran Isles. They knew a thing or two about Ganseys..

Vinted. You can pick up some without the carp tax, hiking tax, patagonia snap back tax. I got mine for about a tenner, still going strong five years later.

A traditional trawlermans jumper bud, maybe also known as a Guernsey I don't know.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll look through them all. Doing a bit of googling, I think the actual name for the type of jumper I'm after is a Gansey - bloody expensive tho
