I tried to Email Harrison but didnt get an answer albeit. Maybe I can give them a call?
Handwriting is great when you are really really good at it but I dont want to risk it with these expensive rods.

If you get custom made labels make sure they're printed with UV stabilised ink, think fading over time.
I had a great deal of trouble sourcing custom designed labels, some companies were very good and offered a 'trial' batch at x cost, others had minimum print qualities in 100s.
In the end I was lucky in that a friend helped me out and designed it for me so I could send it off, I'd never even heard of RAL printing colours until then!...but why would I.
Type of printer is also quite important for small detailed images too...live and learn.
I wasn't overly happy with the 1st rods set but needed the rods built so I'm living with it, the second set were much better but iirc I paid £60 for 200.

I am no rod builder but used the company below for a decal I wanted and they were brilliant
Screenprintdigital.com I went via eBay but apparently he is on Facebook and did what I wanted spot on

Back in my rod building days from the 60's and into the 80's, I used to use white "Indian Ink" or "Letraset".
For the Indian ink, I would just use a normal ink pen you could dip into the ink or use a caligraphy pen. Mostly I used white ink
The "Letraset" I would use in gold or white text depending on the colour of the rod blank, and basically all you did was place where you wanted the letter, then just rub the cover paper as if your doing an etching and the letter would transfer itself onto the rod, but, it took some aligning to get the words right and not going off on a tangent.
And for both, I would just varnish over the top of them carefully.

I use one of those pens in white to put my name on my rods
And for lining dots.

Hello Marcus
If you contact Harrisons they will send you the graphics for rhe aviator flex and union jacks . I use a very fine paint pen to write mine and then seal (pentel permanant paint pen )

You could contact Kev at East Coast Rod Building and Repairs via Facebook and ask for some advice. Seeing as you're in Germany your mate is hardly competition. I'm pretty sure he made the Century logos for my X-lites.

A friend of mine with some rodbuilding experience is building me 2 Aviator flex rods.
The problem we have now is how to add e.g. a Harrison Logo, the inscription or e.g. the Union Jack or a self made icon to the rod.
He has used cut out transfer vinyl/film sometimes but you cannot do thin lines with this e.g. for text like "Aviator flex".
We have tried to print on clear transfer vinyl/film with an inkjet printer but that didnt work either.
So the question is how do you add inscriptions, logos, icons etc. to a rod?
What materials do you use for that and where can you possibly buy such stuff?
