Not sure what that Bait Preserve is but the usage instructions are exactly as for MPG. it could be MPG with added potassium sorbate / citric acid. Maybe give em a ring and ask . I'm using MPG but after drying for a few days, I wouldn't say that they have retained much moisture. This could be down to my pop-up / wafter mix which is 25 % WPC 80 and up to 10 % egg albumen. So rather than trying to pierce with a needle, I find bait screws more user friendly.

+1 and repeat as many times as you want - I'm a sucker for well juiced up hookbaits, so I do this at least 3-4 times over a 2 month period. They're dried out when they rattle like they're hollow 👍

If I want to speed the process up, I'll wrap in a small boilie bag and leave on the radiator for and hour or two - I do believe they take on more juice when they're bone dry and warm.

Its not the answer you're looking for, but I dry my hookbaits out for a couple of weeks until they are rattling bone dry, then rehydrate with various liquids and semi dissolved powders.
This time of the year, and with increased humidity, it might take longer, or you can add some gentle warmth. I rehydrate until they can be pierced with a baiting needle.
When I cut them open with a stanley knife they are glugged through to the centre.
I have never had any go furry and they have lasted with no problems.

Before, and after.

As per title, what is the best liquid preservative to use when making shelflife hardened hookbaits and wafters? Currently using one from AA Baits which is just called Bait Preserve, but they also do a MPG one, which sounds like it might keep a more moist texture. Should I change to the MPG one, as they say bait companies use it for shelflifes etc, and what sort of inclusion rate? Currently using 10ml per egg of the Bait Preserve and then air drying for at least 3-4 days.
Many thanks in advance.
