I haven't got a local tackle shop as such so normally tend to rely on mail order. However today on a visit to a big city popped into a tackle shop and couldn't find a Korda product which suited the problem I wanted solved so bought another product.
I'd just like it noted that I've ‘now left Korda'.
Hope you are all as interested in this as I was reading this thread

In reply to Post #20 Disagree that they are no different to basias they are chalk and cheese one is a robust proper fishing reel the other is a coffee grinder

In reply to Post #20 I'm a fan of Korda products, but I think that all the companies that you list below are distributed by Korda (possibly not Daiwa) so they are paid by or profit from the sales of those brands.
That said, I don't think that Danny distributes any brands that he isn't happy to use and promote, which seems a good compromise on integrity vs. cash

I've always found it quite refreshing that the Korda Team have heavily promoted products from other manufacturers in the past, unlike a lot of the other brands that as mentioned in another thread sell just about every item of tackle you could possibly imagine and more, most of which is nothing to do with the Core of the Brand (how they started out) and is of questionable quality.
Few items spring to mind that Korda have promoted Trakker & Aqua Products, Delkim, Daiwa Rods & Reels, Muddy Waters Indicators etc...
This move from Daiwa to Shimano is just another part of that IMO, obviously his future thoughts on the reel are going to be biased, he's getting paid and getting free reels to promote the brand. We all know Techniums are one of the best reels on the market and in reality are no different to the Basias he had before, they won't catch him any more fish or any less, however his followers will be influenced by his reviews and Shimano will sell a few more sets because of it, that's the way the world is.

What I think's ironic is that the fella has blagged a new set of Shimano reels and had to promote this on the internet (cap reversed to look more yoot) whilst all us keyboard warriers are off on a massive bait tangent which does or does not have any truth behind it .
I'm sure one of the bait guru's will be along shortly to put us straight
