In reply to Post #13 Game On's ringing a bell, wasn't it a flavour back in the 90s, a sort of roast Chicken, maybe Nutrabaits?
Not saying that's anything to do with Rollin

In reply to Post #1 i suspect it just wasn’t your weekend buddy, but if you are looking elsewhere for a winter bait take a look at rollin baits optimum, or Optibaits tutti . The latter i havent used but i would not hesitate in confidence in Sams Optibaits stuff.
Struggle to beat naturals and liquids this time of year tho.

In reply to Post #9 Trent Baits did change the plum a few years back to make it a more creamy bait.
I've not used since the recipe changed but got the upmost faith in the Freshwater Shrimp.

In reply to Post #9 Wasn't quite what I was expecting tbh. I've got a tub of 12mm popups in my bag but heavily plugged as high attract hookbaits.
I've got a mate who swears by Trent baits and had some decent fish on the plum though 👍.
I've been giving the creamino a bash with no success yet. I'll stick with it, but will go back to DNA if things don't improve a bit (considering it's winter n all that).

In reply to Post #8 Hi mate - How did you get on with the Trent Plum gear.
I must say that I thought the plum was going to be more pungent when I opened the bag. Found it to be a more creamy scent.

I get bored using the same bait for too long so after great success in the warmer months on a decent fishmeal, I've moved over to DNA Switch and Bug because the 10kg bundle meant I could choose 2 X 5kg bags.
The switch has got me some carp from quite a special lake, not 'big'uns' but old wise carp nonetheless. So it might be worth a look for you?
Recently, I've found out that Trent do a plum boilie only for the winter so that is what I'll try next (boredom setting in with DNA already) and I do think creamino deserves a go too but that might not be until next spring, then I'll probably be exploring fish meals again
What ever you choose as you know, you need to be near them in the first place

In reply to Post #1 I use S7 (krill) all year but 2 years ago I was looking for a more dedicated winter bait, I narrowed it down to Baitworks CreAmino (quite soft) and RG Baits Vita-Lac, but I never took it any further, might be worth a look
EDIT, a shout out should also go to ABS Plan Zero.

Agree about finding the fish.
Winter, I wait for a sunny (warmer) day, and head straight to the shallow water. Don't bother with nights anymore.
Autumn, I love this time of the year, once you have found the fish I prefer using casters & worm (if allowed) with crushed boilie.

In reply to Post #2 LOL
Forgot to mention done that 5-6 ft all over rocky \ sandy bottom, interrupted and minor patches of that fine weed.
If i could of found the fish it prob would of been a better result, But im past the point where a blank get me the propper hump.
Just some time out in nature having fun a fish in the bottom of the net is almost just a bonus.
Thanx for the vote of confidence tho !,,

In reply to Post #1 Bait won't be the reason, any thing half decent will be fine.
Location is the biggest issue. Spend time with a marker/leading rod, look for weedbeds, reedbeds any snag cover.
