In reply to Post #11 Braid is fine with Palomar knots

For braid I'd go with a grinner knot. I use a palomar for mono & fluoro.
I only use different knots for each because I read on salt strong that braid doesn't do so great with a palomar & flouro doesn't do great with a grinner

In reply to Post #1 Korda Hybrid Stiff and crimp it with 0.6mm Krimps.
It’s more supple than 25lb Boom, but plenty stiff enough for a Ronnie boom.
Makes excellent multi-combi rigs too, takes the faff out of joining fluoro to braid. I crimp the hook end loop and then strip the whole loop to within about 3mm of the crimp. Then slide your anti tangle sleeve on and crimp a small loop in the other end. So easy to get your rig lengths spot on! Sorry to have gone off topic, but it really is a versatile material. Just needs a bit of a steam to straighten once you’ve finished construction.

In reply to Post #7 Worst knot you could use Tbh. Use a grinner or Palomar and you'll have no issues.

In reply to Post #1 Atomic Jeli wire, perfect for what you want. And you get double the amount for nearly the same price.
I echo comment about knots slipping, think you might have something wrong there.

What knots are you using? None of them should really slip with a coated braid.
As mentioned, the ESP Tungsten loaded is awesome.

In reply to Post #1 If the knots are slipping then you probably aren't tying them correctly. What knots are you using?

Could anyone recommend a coated braid for Ronnie booms? Will be fishing with a lead clip. I’ve tied a few up with n trap but the knots slip even when it’s stripped back, thanks in advance
