In reply to Post #9 Put their money where their mouth is?? Bless you. Yet another ex customer of ours.... Was even sharing all our social media posts at one point. Had magazine customers to sell to. Ordered from us & instantly opened up a hook bait company selling very expensive cardboard pop ups five minutes later. It's a well versed little formula. Other magazine bosses have done the exact same thing. It's good to inspire people... Then afterwards have to listen to people like yourself Vossy telling me all about what's what.
I'll put my money where my mouth is. Real money. Anytime your friends Gio or Dieter wants £50k or £100k on the outcome with me.... All day everyday & twice on a Sunday I'll take their money off them. Ask them if they really want to put their money where their mouth is
Same offer applies to ALL of the rest. Absolutely any of them. I'm absolutely game.
I need a long break from the internet

In reply to Post #8 Trading of the back of nostalgia more than anything
From what I read, he's (FF) one of the few that put their money where their mouth is and actually have the old flavours tested and then try and recreate faithfully from what's available now. I have their secret agent flavour and it's very good, but who am I.
Just wish D would listen to feedback and start selling mixed pastel colour pots, I'll be dammed if I'm paying £57 to have all 3

In reply to Post #7 Had a quick Nosey. They are also doing Jacko pops as well. Forgotten flavours do a huge range of pop ups. There a bit like them old school sweet shops that were around a few years back. Trading of the back of nostalgia more than anything. But I'm sure there baits still catch there fair share.

In reply to Post #6 I know you said S2 Winter Secret but thought I'd mention when having a nosey on Johnson Ross website last night that was one of the flavour pop ups from Forgotten Flavours in the new items section

In reply to Post #3 Jacko pop ups Strawberry cream & geranium EO...
Would be well up for a pot of Your S2 if you done them in the old winter secret flavour. One of my all time favorite Solar pop ups..

In reply to Post #4 Thanks Guys
Seems like another company no longer doing bait mixes/flavours to home rollers, a real shame TBH, probably due to lack of home rolling demand and higher ingredient costs, EU Rulings, etc.
Fondly Remember the early 90's Solar their good/different views on 'cheap' birdfood bait, and mixmaster Attractors, and of course the original Squid & Octopus made people think about their bait, people moved off of the protein mixes, etc.

As far as I know, someone else did purchase the company many years ago now and Martin stayed on in a product development role. At that point the old Solar bait seemed to become no more. All the old mixes and the Solar pop ups were no longer. They did bring out new baits and also relaunched some of the old ones I think, but that as you say seems to have gone now too. I know Martin left recently, maybe that's why. The lad Jake who runs it for the owner has purchased our hook baits for a few years. He's a lovely bloke. Good angler too.
Lee Jackson asked me to roll a version of the Jacko pops recently, he still has a load of the liquids that went into those old Solar pop ups.

In reply to Post #1 The Solar website looks like its been updated to me since I last went on a couple of months ago. Google search solar tsckle bait and the page still exists but returns a error.
Cherry Carp Kells, still going, I get the odd random fb post popping up.

In reply to Post #1 You definitely don't hear anything about Solar baits these days. Didn't Martin Locke sell up a few years back? You only really ever hear about the tackle side of the business.
Didn't they branch out with a bit of a side project with bait at some point " Cherry bait " springs to mind.

Are Solar Tackle still selling bait ? Anyone know anything.
Just been browsing the main website and 24/7 shop and unless they are adding/changing stuff/tweaking the website/s, it does seem devoid of any bait & mixmaster products to buy.
