In reply to Post #1 I’ve used Sunblesa for a good few years, curtesy of OG, however mine has started to play up after many nights use over the past few years,
So I’ve taken the plunge and given the Flextail head torch a go, Tiny HELIO 600z
It’s early days yet so I can’t really say if it’s better, as a start it certainly seems good.

I went with Gerry’s recommendation of a Nitecore 25. Does everything I need and got it when it was on offer.
God bless the old bugger

Another vote for the Nebo rechargeable head torch from Scewfix.

Nitecore. Tried a few but for the cost they are lighter and better than most.
Nu25 you can sleep with it on, barely notice it, and good battery life.
Nu30/35/40 if you need something brighter but the Nu25 is absolutely enough for general use

In reply to Post #5 Yes nitecore brilliant, so light that I can sleep with it on,hated my ridgemonkey, to bulky/heavy.

I’ve been eyeing up the Nitecore ones because of the immense battery life - NU25 could be a shout if you don’t need it lighting up the whole lake. The NU45 looks a bit of a beast for anyone need to light up a far bank etc.
Had a Ridgemonkey torch based on a friend’s rec but didnt get on with it at all. Found it bulky and kept turning on in the bag.

Looking for recommendations for a new head torch.
Rechargeable
Reasonably compact
Doesn’t need to light up the entire lake
Ideally have two settings, normal and focused but it absolutely cannot be a generic rebranded head torch with strobe and red light - no longer in the army and I don’t needneed to “preserve my night vision” - Zee Germans are not coming
Thanks
