So the Ultralite + Skull Cap that I sent on Express48 Large service for £25.10 has arrived with no issues. That was with full insurance too.

If you then use the Express 48 Large service, the dimensions I posted will apply. I have had my postie take a package that was pretty much two metres long yesterday and she didn't bat an eyelid. I'll post back here when the recipient has safely received!

I think it's confusing on purpose.

But when you click on large parcel it says maximum size
No one dimension can exceed 150cm
Length + girth must be no more than 300 cm

If you click on the green "Package Sizes" link, it shows this:

**Larger items are welcome on our Parcelforce express48 large services that allows up to maximum length of 250cms and length and girth combined of 400cms.

Start from the link below - it doesn't request any dimensions but offers a Parcelforce Service when you select large parcel.

Think I have found a viable alternative chaps - it seems that the Parcelforce Express48 Large Service permits packages with one dimension of 250cm, up to 20kg. Rods would be fair game. I think the trap we all fall into is searching for "tube" services.

Booked through Parcel force website is cheapest I found but that’s with basic insurance as soon as you add extra insurance especially if it’s a good few hundred quid the price increase a lot expect to pay around £40 odd quid with basic insurance and will rise a lot once you add extra insurance
