That's some distance with these rods...
what was the rest of the tackle, to get some perspective.

I have a set of torrix TE that brought as needing rebuild, never bothered thou.
sets can be £4-500 for three second hand and you won't lose any money on them.

I had the 12-6 TEs. Put singles 150 easy. And small bags 120s. Felt nice playing fish too unlike other distance rods ive used.

Why not the 13ft aviator, mine will flick a 2oz weight 60yds, and don't pull the head off fish under the tip.

Having built many a set on both blanks and used both myself albeit the aviators more i would point you in direction of the aviators. They are an upgrade on the torrix blank which is a very good blank . The standard torrix te is not an easy rod to use but with more rings is very very nice . Kev baynes built his big snipers on the blank . The aviator is a far more user friendly rod with good casting and playing action.

Nice rods, but the standard handle size is too short imo.

Dont have 12'6" Aviators but did have 12' and they were awful casting rods - swopped them for 13' Aviators and they are different gravy altogether! Saying that if I was in the market for new range rods I'd also be looking at SCR ST13's (South Coast Rods) . . . .

I have a set of 12'6 TE's and was contemplating a set of Aviator 12'6's.Bob Davis lent me an Aviator and I hung it over my banister next to a TE with 3oz leads attached. There was no appreciable difference in the curve.
