In reply to Post #22 How do you know this m8? Just for information purposes

In reply to Post #1 It wasn't stocked with 400 fish in 2001, nowhere near that amount, and they weren't up to 55, just over 40 probably, and the original owners didn't actually see what fish were stocked.

Hmmmm..... anyone who's been to France regularly will know there's good weeks and poor weeks. I've fished some lakes which are really Peggy and if you aren't in a going swim, you're gonna struggle.
What I do find odd is you registered on this forum 7 years ago and this seems to be your first post. Have you spoken with the lake owner about your week.... what was his response?
People always assume french lakes are easy.... many are under pressure 24/7 for 9 months of the year.
And don't use words you can't spell properly, it makes you look a little silly.

My personal view is that he's been economical with the truth.
But he hasn't lied or 'mis-sold' anything IMO because he hasn't claimed that the current stock is 400+.
I can understand you're disappointment though & I think you're going to have to suck it up unfortunately.
& Maybe think about retracting some of your statements as I'm not entirely sure that it's fair on the fishery.

This is also a misrepresentation he has had the lake for 8 years!!

In reply to Post #17 It's under new ownership so no they wouldn't necessarily know if they'd had a fish kill. This is why people should properly research venues. It's not like there aren't plenty to choose from

In reply to Post #4 The website is still misleading. It should have a estimated stocking. They know if they've had a fish kill and approximately how many lost. Did they not restock.
Linear tell you an initial stocking and an estimated level. They also restock every year to allow for natural unseen fatalities. Poor owners that don't care or a manager doing whatever.
Let's tell everyone we put 400 in but not tell them we've lost 200 and don't bother about restocking lost fish.

A certain water in Norfolk claimed it had 1500 fish in it. The initial stocking. Before covid fish coming out. After covid about 1 or 2 a week. Season ticket holders could see this. The manager always claimed you don't know how to fish it. Although we all caught prior. Most of us reckon it had about 150 to 200 at most after covid. It's now to the best of my knowledge still closed (as I don't live in Norfolk now) him his Mrs and daughter all got booted. He kept up the pretense it still had 1500 fish in it. The owners did a survey and it's been shut since.
Big carp have a value. Quick easy money.

In reply to Post #14 As stated i didn't book the lake, also there are no reviews or recent catch reports, whilst i admit I should of researched this further i also believe I should of been given a fair reflection from the website

Seems to me you probably should have taken a breath and thought about it before coming on here and trying to disrupt somebodies livelihood.
Did you do any research at all into previous catch reports or recent reviews before you booked the lake? I can’t see any mention of claims to be a runs water in that blurb?

Ok to put you in the picture, I have commons to 55lb and mirrors to 59lb my uk pb is 38lb but I haven't fished much in the UK for nearly 10 years due to work, but I do go to France at least twice a year, I have a bait boat but still use a marker to find my spots in both silt and gravel with many placed on the edge of both, im not a Noddy and understand the variables!!

In reply to Post #9 French pbs are not the same as English pbs so at the end of the week if he caught a 50 it still wouldn’t beat the 22
what bait did you use??

In reply to Post #8 Ok I have fished many lakes in france, I've been going for over 22 years and had mixed results, I can take a bad week, but haven't blanked for over 15 years, I've fished Etang de Royale, with John and Ben, Then Bay lakes as regular venues, neither of which are or where runs waters, I understand that it's fishing and the variables but it's the fact that it is misleading!! We booked the water for a friend who was coming out to France for the first time to give him a great chance of catching a PB as his current one is 22lb, there probably wasn't a fish in the lake ro challenge my current PB but that wasn't important to me!!

Personally I take any blurb with a pinch of salt
Did you fish it correctly as even 200 fish in 10.5 acres is still a fair stock.
What was the weather when you went
Could be loads of variables as to why you or it fished badly.
Never fished it
