Today at around midday my replacement fs tip arrived! via DPD RESULT!!. I unpacked it while the DPD courier was present all was as it should be. I have contacted the shop to inform them of delivery also to thank them. So in my case the shop/fs came through.

Very happy.

Well Gents, so far since my last posting they have responded to my email and admitted that the photo they produced was of the original delivery rod tube!!. It seems an error in packaging had occurred and the tip was still at their shop! left under other items!?! ( you just cant get the staff!! ) I've been informed that DPD are collecting it for delivery? and had a confirmation email from DPD but with a tracking number supplied via the shop. As of this time DPD have not confirmed collection today I wait with baited breath. Thanks gentlemen for your responses.

Im the same, id never buy another Free Spirit rod again, id advise anyone who wants to buy one go down the custom route, my local Angling Direct had x3 set of HI-S on the shelf and not one of the sets rings matched up.

I snapped a few s range tips years back (xs and ts) at different times and had to pay half the rods cost through the retailer each time, i knew it wasn't my fault despite them claiming it was user error but i needed the rods complete to sell on as i lost confidence in their products, the biggest problem was they were custom built with different ringing at the time and they just couldn't get it right, i had standard built tips back, tips with different spacings despite them having the 1 good remaining tip to match, eventually i got the tips back that were almost right and sold them on in an honest manner and a bit sharpish, i will never go back to using their products again to be honest as it was an extremely frustrating experience, i will say the retailer was very good and extremely patient though!

I dealt with the fishing shop i bought them from, in all it was fine i was just annoyed i had to pay literally half the RRP of the rod for a section that was under 6 months old.

From previous experience with Free Spirit they will just charge you 1/2" the price of a rod for a replacement, i wasn't very impressed when my next to new E Class cracked down the shaft.

Since my last post things have not improved the tackle outlet/shop I purchased from is Todber Manor Fisheries, Manor Farm, Sturminster Newton . I received an email on Sunday 25/08/25 saying my rod tip was being sent for next day Monday. Then another saying sorry forgot its bank holiday! they will send on Tuesday the day after . I responded thanking them then asked when they expect it to arrive BUT no response. Later that week I informed them nothing had turned up but no response. Yesterday the 31/08/25 I received an email with an apology/excuse saying it had been sent and showing a photo of it? arriving!?! with me holding a very Large long cardboard rod tube!!, But and its a Big BUT, that photo was of me taking delivery of the original rod that I bought from them..... NOT A TIP.
The broken tip section measures 38.5 inches, = 96.5cm approx., ! and does not require a large heavy rod tube .
So as it stands at the moment I have returned an email saying that I have not taken delivery of the tip etc. I have asked for confirmation of collection, day of delivery, time of delivery, what courier was used, consignment number, and driver identification, Lets see where this goes with Todber. Lastly I have checked out Todber on Trustpilot its worrying. Oh one more thing the email is being followed up by a phone call tomorrow.
....Not happy.

I has two tips snap (never ever happened on any other rod before)
They said it was my fault and sold me new top sections for £80.00
Definitely not my fault.
They also said "high end rods act differently to normal rods"

They are at best very poor.
That's the polite way of putting it.

I recently purchased a second new free spirit hi-s rod the tip section snapped on the very first cast! I promptly informed the shop of the issue. When I contacted the shop again they asked for a photo which was duly provided and with an explanation. They in turn said they are contacting free spirit with the information etc.. I am giving the shop five working days before asking for an update on the faulty tip. I understand there is a twelve months warranty for manufacturing defects. Which is to me plainly the case.
I wanted to get some feedback on the customer service regarding free spirit and their reputation?.

Thanks for your responses.
